It would help Deron Williams to play better, but it would be questionable how well the rest of the team would do, especially since this is mid-season and learning a new system will take time to learn for the team.
It would be best for the Nets to have Deron Williams be part of making decisions for the franchise. That way he can stay happy and the franchise stays happy. Just like what the Clippers have done with Chris Paul. He helps make their decisions on the franchise to keep him happy and he has shown that he knows what he is doing by how well the Clippers are playing with their mix of young players, veteran leadership and depth.
Sloan could coach them, but it would be best to have Deron Williams in on part of the signing of a new coach to make him happy.
Brooklyn wouldn't understand all of Sloan's unique wordplays. "Jackpotting around", "getting sideways", etc. And they wouldn't know what to do with a guy who wears a John Deere ballcap on his head when he isn't coaching.
Ha Ha Ha that's a good one. I'm sure Jerry would love to have another shot at coaching the player who (rumored) he resigned over.
I have also heard rumors on the Nets being interested in Jeff Van Gundy.
