Kings starter? Heck he should be the #1 starter in the All-Star game and could pretty much start on every team.
Worst team, lower tier coach, cow town...Jimmer needs to get out of Sacramento. The guy would score 15/game if they would let him go out and play.
Come on Jazz. As they sing in Les Mis, "Bring Him Home!"
Comparing Fredette to Tebow... yeah, that works. Both were overhyped and over rated.
@Earnest T Bass - I'm going to assume you are mocking the BYU/Jimmer fanatics by saying that. If not, I'm very frightened.
Put Jimmer in the game or release him to another team in the NBA. After reading Travis Hansen's excellent book for youth,"The Next Few Years Will Change Your Life," I saw another path for Jimmer besides sitting on the bench. I hope Jimmer gets a chance to prove that he is an excellent ball player by being a starter, otherwise, he should be able to have other options like Travis did.
Why not? The Kings are terrible, you'd think the Kings would try to develop him or at least increase his trade value by allowing him to play.
Ernie is just a attention-deprived-BYU-hater.
I'm glad that someone in Sacramento has finally realized what the rest of us knew all along. Given plsying time, Jimmer would do in the NBA what he did in the NCAA - guaranteed.
Jimmer is old news!! I'm much more interested in the Jazz than Jimmer. Quit beating a dead horse DNews!!
Free Jimmer!
If Victor Contrares of the Sac Bee says it---and Layton Shumway former intern for the Deseret News who now writes big people articles for the Deseret News, writes it--it must be true.
Seriously though---an article about what a writer at another paper thinks oughta be happening? Spare us.
How about Raja Bell and Warriors pick for Jimmer?
Bring him on Sacramento....more time equals more scoring. The tiger has not changed his stipes. How dumb can you be Sacramento? How dumb. He did it in college play, but he got onto the wrong NBA team who benched him. Probably a coaching probem for the Kings.
I have no statistical evidence of this, but I'm guessing the number of anti-fans who truly, irrationally believe Fredette is completely unequipped to become a solid NBA player dwarfs those Superfans who truly, irrationally believe he's 35 minutes per game away from MVP consideration.
Basically, the anti-BYU bunch gets a huge kick out of making fun of a very, very small cross-section of Y fans with unrealistic expectations. Well, guys, have fun with that "fight." You're arguing against a point that no-one's making, or at least no experienced adult sports fans are making. You tell those 12-year-olds what's up!
It appears that the King's coach has shown his disdain for Jimmer because he's white. I believe it is more racial than talent driven. What I don't understand is why the organization hasn't fired this poor-excuse-of-a-coach.
"It appears that the King's coach has shown his disdain for Jimmer because he's white. I believe it is more racial than talent driven."
The coach is lousy, I won't argue with that, but suggesting he's racist? On what basis do you make that conclusion?
The Kings organization is a mess. Keith Smart, their coach is a joke. There is chaos amongst players. No one cares with the Kings. Jimmmer is in a terrible situation. I'm not one to think he'll be an all-star, but he can play in the NBA is is probably one of the 20 best pg's in the league. Smart has had a problem with Jimmer all along (some think it racial, some think it just arrogance and stupidity) so as long as Smart is the coach, Jimmer will never succeed. If he starts to do well, Smart puts him back on the bench. Additionally, many King players freeze him out and will not share the ball with him. It's just about as miserable a situation as one could possible make up.
Free Jimmer! It's the only way. Realistically Jimmer could be a solid NBA Player. If the Kings don't like him they should just get rid of him.
One reason why Jimmer is not starting is that he can't defend against the larger and quicker guards in the NBA, which in Jimmer's case is just about everyone. Jimmer does not have the speed nor the athleticism to compete at the NBA level. Shooting is one thing, but not the only thing a guard in the NBA needs. I realize that this may rub a few Jimmer fans the wrong way, but Jimmer lacks basic skills needed in the NBA. He is a nice kid, but the NBA, including the Kings, need a skilled player, not just a shooter.
"It appears that the King's coach has shown his disdain for Jimmer because he's white. I believe it is more racial than talent driven."
Yeah, that's it. The rich white owners of the Kings tolerate a coach who discriminates against a player because he is white. ???
More likely a case of a delusional fan so obsessed with race he can't believe others don't share his prejudices.
