Teams know that Davies is not a great players, he's a nice, good, post guy, but every team has one of those. So they focus on swarming and shutting the best player on the team, Tyler Haws. After that? there's nobody that's going to beat you. Sharp is very average, Austin is very average, Carlino is average. Delgado impresses me, I think he can be a strong starter this year, Carlino might be a year or two away. Zylstra is very average, against weak teams he'll look good, but against good teams he's lost. BYU will compete and maybe make the NCAAs this year, but they are two or three years away from having a really good team.

I knew it would be rough when we barely got by Utah at home.

This Jamie Dykes and I think BYU needs to join the newly forming BB conference splitting off from the Big East. BYU will bring a tradition of excellence in both the arena and the classroom as well as a commitment to the future. Like Notre Dame BYU can maintain independence in football. I spoke with Coach Tom Crean, my mentor and former boss, who really thinks BYU hoops belongs in the new construct. Coach Crean also related that Creighton and Gonzaga will be part of the mix new conference mix with the possibility of another MWC school located to the south of you
