    This was a nice result for sure, but the author should probably point out that none of the top U.S. skiers (including Bode Miller, Ted Ligety, and Marco Sullivan) even competed. This was more like a NorAm field than a World Cup field. The way the U.S. Ski Team does the "national championships" is a total sham...the best skiers in the country typically don't even come.
