....and THIS is why we have such fancy schools, and uneducated students. Utah spends more money giving contracts to developers to build the schools, than they do on sheer education. A DOME for a school? What is it, the Papacy?
In "wasteful" California, schools are not fancy. When a school expands, they add another strip of buildings - and that strip has a door that goes directly outside.
Utah builds palaces, and cries about "how much money we spend" and yet we have such a low graduation rate.
Shameful.
PLease tell me this was paid for by donation. I would hope that tax dollars were not used to build some fancy entrance when there are schools that do not even have air conditioning and the like.
Is there a sale on domes? I never saw the coupon. Everyone wants a dome now you'd think we were in the middle ages or the middle east.
Someone please explain the dome phenomenon.
Most Truthful...
You might want to check your research. There are a few high schools in CA that were over several hundred million dollars...
And heck, if they can pay the Super in the district nearly 300K, give the kids a dome!
What an incredible waste of taxpayer money. First of all the school wasn't even needed with both Jordan and Brighton at well under capacity they just needed to change boundaries. Yet because the voters in the Canyons weren't smart enough to figure it out they voted to give Doty unlimited funds to build his monunment to himself and now we see what happens.
I'm sure his PR firms will figure out a way to spin this to make it seem like a good idea, but this high school is a complete waste of our money.
