Any political philosophy that opposes medical care for all it's citizens but encourages massive funding for newer, better and greater weapons and a larger war machine has no morals.
Repubs: justify military spending over healthcare. I dare you.

Only in the Deseret News would Chuck Norris Vs. ObamaCare get included in the group of "Top News Stories" Kudos Deseret News! Thanks so much for ignoring the Senate vote for U.N. Disabilities Rights. Nice to see that article nowhere in your paper. But where is my mind? I am so insensitive to the poor totured souls at Hobby Lobby.

"Let them eat cake." The Republican prescription for health care.

For some, birth control is a matter of life and death. A dear friend of mine has a clotting condition. Her last child nearly killed her. It was imperative that she never become pregnant again. My own daughter was suspected of having a hydatidiform molar pregnancy. Thankfully, further tests proved that her child was fine. But for one in every thousand women who become pregnant, this never-viable mass of tissue can kill them, if the pregnancy is not terminated. Follow-up treatment may include chemotherapy and the prescription to not become pregnant for at least a year.

Physical intimacy is an important part of marriage. It is a violation of a person's right to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness," to deny them their right to use the health benefits that they have earned. The employer buys a policy. It is up to the employee to decide how to use it.

Chuck Norris doesn't choke the life out of Obamacare. Obamacare chokes out its own life when it sees Chuck Norris coming.

Maybe he is right that there is no middle ground. It's time to move to a national health system like the rest of the Western world. Compromise isn't accepted by some who would rather stay in a past that doesn't work and work to tear the nation apart. Chuck has his, millions, but for those not so fortunate, too bad so sad. He represents the worst of this country.

While its good to know that Chuck Norris's health care needs are taken care of, this is not true of all Americans. Hense we now have Obama Care.

Mr. Obama campaigned in 2007 and 2008 on health care reform and won; people knew it was coming on election day 2008. If people would read, they would see that in 2010 or 2011, Mr. Obama said states can opt out of the Affordable Care Act, as long as they provide all the citizens health care. I'm confident states like Massachusetts will opt out of Obama care (and yes he does care), because everyone there is already insured or paying a fine to not have insurance. It is conservative to stop the free riders in health care, everyone pays now.

Obamacare is socialized medicine and the mandate also includes massive tax hikes that all American citizens will be subjected to. It is a massive socialistic power grab that was rammed down our throats. Even Nancy Pelosi suggested we pass it "immediately" so we can finally find out what is in the bill.

Obama is a socialist, and wants this country to practice socialism. Socialism if a failed system - look at Europe.

All of you liberal sheep need to wake up.

Our Founding Fathers chose to accept independence from a country that squashed people's religious freedoms and financial independence. They fought against their homeland type of environment whether English or another taxing authority.

We prepared and fought against Communism, Marxism, Socialism, Nazi regimes and other types of despot types of governments under Woodrow Wilson, Franklin D. Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Baines Johnson and even in Haiti with Bill Clinton who led us into wars to end all wars. Franklin D. Roosevelt brought us the League of Nations and he and President Truman brought us the United Nations to have other governments as a whole tell us as the United States of America that we are wrong and have been wrong diplomatically and militarily for over 200 years. Now, we have our own President apologizing to the world for all our indiscriminate actions over the 2 centuries due the rich wanting to take advantage of the poor.

Those other forms of government and their medical social programs have failed. Our Wall Street is a pretty good system but greed of those people involved with banks, real estate and loan programs took a toll on our citizens. Pride is probably there, also.

Sorry Chuck but you are an actor, not a politician and not someone who has done any research beyond their own views, (whether they be right or wrong).

An actor says we need to abolish it and 75% of healthcare workers say there has to be a change, sorry but I am going with the healthcare workers who ulike actors face and deal with the system on a daily basis.

We pay more or a higher percentage of our GDP than any other developed nation in the world and our healthcare system is not even close to the best.

Boehner who is speaker of the house in washington after the election said Obamacare is now law. Wouldn't it be much better to use your powers of persuasion and "kicks to the head" to help change the system to something that will work for the citizens of the country?

Even Mr. Romney said there are parts of Obamacare that he would have kept, yet you the actor want to throw them all out.

Based upon my powers of reasoning you are you using very little reasoning. Perhaps as an actor you need headlines more than you want to help.

So it is not ok for the insurance to pay for contraception?
But it’s ok for grandpa to gets his Viagra paid for by taxpayers via Medicare?

If obamacare is socialized medicine, what is Medicare?
Are you for doing away with Medicare and Medicaid also?

I reiterate.....why would Deseret News care one iota what a washed up actor thinks. What credentials does he have? He can afford whatever Cadillac health plan is available.

Some Clueless, clueless people are commenting on this Chuck Norris story.
First, this is Not about whether contraception or smoking pot is right or wrong or legal or not. It is about the Government promoting communistic ideas like forcing people (business owners) to provide, and pay for services of other people's poor moral choices.
Second, "I haven't seen the republicans come up with anything better"....Why are we waiting for or depending on the government to take care of our health care? This is also known as Socialism.
Mitt Romney is apparently right when he said that 40% of Americans depend on Government to take care of them.
I have an idea! How about each of us individually, take care of our own health care coverage, and keep government out of it.

I am in favor of individuals taking care of their own health care except there is one small problem. What do we do with those who don't take care of their own health care and find themselves in a situation where they or one of their children who needs a major surgery or has a serious accident then what? Do we deny them care if they can't pay? That is the only way to make people responsible.

Being responsible is great if there is a consequence for irresponsibility. What we currently have is not working, and there is no consequence for lack of responsibility. I would rather have Obamcare which will require everyone to pay something, as opposed to what we have now which is those who have insurance pay the full bill for those who aren't responsible and don't have coverage.

To "Fred44" you want to know what you do for somebody who doesn't want to take care of themselves?! That is simple. You don't take care of them.

Think about that person you knew in Highschool or College who was always dating somebody who was totally wrong for them or was leading them down a bad path. All you can do is warn them of the consequences of their choices, then be there to support them once they hit rock bottom and decide to climb their way out.

The same with healthcare. If somebody doesn't want insurance, warn them, and once they finally get to a point where their health problems give them grief, you support them and help them get insurance and help them figure out a way to pay for their own care.

If you do that, they will learn the value of health insurance. If you go with the liberal mentality, you will end up with a healthcare system that doesn't help.

American business has no choice with Obamacare - it is law. America has chosen socialism on Nov 6th and that sad choice will make us Greece in less than 5 years. Elections have consequences...remember that when you see your insurance premiums sky rocketing over the next 4 years.... and medical care declining.... but you can feel warm and fuzzy inside knowing you are being "fair".

Chuck norris can choke the life out of obama care by himself. Why is he calling for help now? If his tears can cure caners, it's about time he started crying about all of this.

TL;DR: Chuck doesn't need help.

Salt Lake City, UT

Any large corporation has a responsibility to provide conventional medical care options as required by law. Contraception and sterilization are part of that. Fact of life. Twenty-first century modern society and all that. If the feds required women to use contraception or be sterilized, I can see their point! Otherwise, it is they who are imposing their beliefs/values on others (employees who have no choice but to take Hobby Lobby's subpar insurance). Sorry kids! Moreover, if you are anti-abortion then take up the flag of contraception! Access to contraception has been proven over and over again to decrease the abortion rate. Put your efforts into something that actually makes a difference, Chuck! Less access to contraception = more abortions.

Oh! And the morning after pill is NOT an abortifacient. Anyone who says otherwise is not a:
3)objective reader of science literature

These pills:
1)thicken cervical mucus and thus prevent sperm motility
2)delay ovulation
There is NO (none, nada, zero, zilch) evidence that they:
1) prevent a fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus.

Hooray no abortion! Please join me singing the praises of contraceptives of all types as they will finally vanquish elective abortions forever!

Salt Lake City, UT

Obamacare has an opt-out provision, able to be used by any state that comes up with their own system that covers at least as many at no more expensive a cost. So far only Vermont has gone that route. Looks like conservative states really can't do better, otherwise they could be opting out right now.
