Comments about ‘BYU football: Ty Detmer set for Hall of Fame induction tonight’

Go Ty! One of my coworkers just today was saying "when I had season tickets to BYU games it was fun--I was there when they beat miami" (like even today, it was a huge deal). :)

I was at BYU during the Ty Detmer era. I got to see the win over the University of Miami and the schillacking the Cougs gave Penn State. Coach Paterno was so angry that he walked from Cougar Stadium all the way to their hotel on Center Street. Those were the days when the Cougars could pull off those big wins because they had better talent and they were hungry to win. Unfortunately, the team has lost its way. I went to the San Jose State game this season and the players on the sidelines were acting as if they were eating brownies and drinking juice after a fireside. Congratulations Ty. You deserve this wonderful award.
