Once every 4 or 5 years West Jordan asks for citizen input on what the future of the "downtown" area, centered around 7800 South and Redwood Road, should include, exclude, and look like.
After input is gathered and studies completed, the ideas are compiled and everyone congratulates themselves on their good work. The plans are then gently placed on the shelf and ignored for a few more years until a new Council revives the idea that something ought to be done to improve West Jordan's city core, and fresh input is sought and new studies paid for. The cycle is then repeated.
After participating in this farce multiple times, many residents will probably avoid this latest attempt at planning for the future. Sad, but true.
