Great article and great topic. I can think of a number of things that would suggest that this focus is missing from the consciousness of far too many business leaders. Earlier this year, Yahoo! CEO Scott Thompson had to resign because he had lied on his resume, this fall we were barraged with a stream of lies and half-truths by both sides of the Presidential debate (followed up each night with the "pants on fire" claims of the fact checkers), and a couple of years ago the Harvard Business Review published a study, Managing Talent in Troubled Times, that suggested "...the majority of people say they trust a stranger more than they trust their boss."
This is a conversation that is long over due.
