Why do I as a parent have to go to all these outside resources to teach my kid math?
I might as well home school.
[P.S. I'm and Engineer. I know the problem is NOT the Teachers (or the Union ultra-conservatives), but is in fact the stupid common core curriculum that is the problem.]
The math I learned in high school and college was taught to me with so many different methods that it was a miracle I made it through. Math curriculum is so disjointed in presentation for most of us math-challenged commoners.
I used to tell my friends that Satan has a written language, called trigonometry.
New math teaching strategies are confusing.
Go sit in a fourth grade math class, and observe.
Galileo said "Mathmatics is the language with which God has written the universe."
Common core curriculum, is the product of liberal thinking. An even level learning field, with learning evenly distributed. No low self estem for any student.
Like Galileo, Thomas Edison, and Albert Einstein, Champions Run Alone.
