Better a kid drinks a protein shake; then eats junk food. Teenagers have higher nutrition needs; they can not always eat the six meals a day that they should. Drinking the protein shakes is a good way to get the needed food.
And we are talking young athletes here; not kids sitting at home playing video games.
As far as the steroids: it really has never been shown to be that bad.
Doctors prescribe steroids and HGH all the time; if a child is below average in size.
