"Not much difference between the couch potato bowl, toilet bowl, and poinsettia bowl."

Only a bitterly jealous Utah fan living in complete denial would try to equate not playing in a bowl, with playing in the Poinsettia Bowl. The truth is, if Utah had somehow managed to become bowl eligible, the Utes would have been thrilled to play in any bowl that would have had them.

What's even more laughable is that SIX of the wins in that nine-game bowl winning streak that Utah fans used to beat their chests about incessantly, were won in bowls that Utah fans now talk about with such disdain:

Las Vegas Bowl (1999, 2001)
Poinsettia Bowl (2007, 2009)
Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl (2005)
Armed Forces Bowl (2006)

Maybe we should just wipe those bowls off of Utah's record, since winning a game in any of those bowls is no more significant than winning the coach potato bowl.

"Aren't you proud! You should send Christmas cards to... too bad Utah didn't play one more patsy..."

The mighty Utes do play one more patsy (see Colorado), unfortunately for U, that still won't help U. Seeing how inept the Utes really are, it's laughable that anybody in Utah ever thought that the Utes would ever be anything more than cannon fodder for the big boys of the PAC 12.

"Too bad Utah didn't play one more patsie. Then, just like you, I could be watching my team play in a bottom-feeder bowl."

It's interesting that the Utes have fallen so far in their continuing downward spiral that Utah fans are openly admitting that the only way the Utes can qualify for a "bottom-feeder" bowl is to play a slate full of patsies.

The harsh reality of just how far the Utes have fallen in their continuing downward spiral is finally starting to settle in even amongst the most die-hard crimson glasses wearers.

Why didn't you mention the Fiesta, Sugar or Sun Bowl? Now that's curious, BYU will never play in any of those. And yes, any bowl is better than no bowl at all. A very disapointing season indeed. Why do you contantly troll the Utah threads, and try to pick a fight? It's a pretty sad M.O., but you do it well.

So people are saying BYU fans come in here because Utah fans started it? What are you, five?

"Why didn't you mention the Fiesta, Sugar or Sun Bowl?"

BYU played in the Fiesta Bowl 30 years before the Utes got there and the Sun Bowl has long since passed its glory days of being one the New Years Day bowls and is now nothing more than a minor bowl that offers an above average-sized pay check in a city that will never appear on anybody's list of fun places to visit.

I'm sorry if your PAC 12 world is not as "Rosey" as Utah fans were expecting, but not everybody who disagrees with you is trying to pick a fight.

At least get your facts straight. BYU was in the Fiesta Bowl 38 years ago and lost 16-6. It was not a BCS bowl; not even close. Utah played in the Fiesta bowl in 2005, in which the bowl was a top tier bowl.Considering the Sun Bowl paid out 4x what the Armed Forces bowl did, I guess that doens't say much for BYU. I'm sorry if you have to get in your time machine in an attemped debate, and I hope this lesson helps.

BYU played in the Fiesta Bowl 30 years before the Utes got there.

Fiesta Bowl
Oklahoma State (7-5) 16
BYU (7-4-1) 6

Those two teams wouldn't have sniffed a BCS Fiesta Bowl. Try making a BCS game before putting it down.

Given the y's schedule with several #150+ teams, just in order to make a bowl, I admit the standard in the state has been set.

Certainly no more laughable than a "legacy" "brand" program proudly proclaiming their "independence" and "exposure", then loudly announcing in advance they are ready for the NC game--or at least a Top-10 finish, only to rely on beating bad teams to qualify for their only bottom-tier bowl possibility.

Still living in the 80's, eh?

It's funny that you fixate on "bcs bowls", yet completely fail to recognize the differences in bowl matchups, regardless of which bowl they're played in.

For example: BYU and Utah have both played far better opponents in the Las Vegas Bowl, than Utah played in the Fiesta Bowl.

Another example: Utah fans constantly beat their chests about how many bowl games Utah has won, while completely ignoring the fact, most of those teams were very mediocre.

BYU has played more ranked teams in bowls than Utah has played bowls. The undefeated Tulane and Marshall teams that BYU played in the Liberty Bowl, were MUCH better teams than any team Utah has beaten in any bowl outside of the Sugar Bowl.

Instead of fixating on labels like "bcs bowl" and "bcs team", you need to step outside of your crimson-colored bubble once in awhile long enough to see that labels don't really determine how good or how bad an individaul team is.

There some very good teams in non-AQ conferences and there are some very bad teams in AQ conferences.

Those games were 14 and 15 years ago. Utah played a great Boise State team that was better than the teams you reference; just 2 years ago. See the difference? Back in the day, BYU played good bowl opponents. It's been a while though; quite a while.

The sad part is, both programs had a dissapointing year.

Have a good Thanksgiving!

Maybe this makes more sense to those threatened by my statements of record swapping with schedule. Look at the bottom 5 opponents in Utah and BYU's schedule

BYU's bottom five:

New Mexico State
Weber State
Washington State

Utah's bottom five:

Northern Colorado
Washington State

Get it finally? There is no way anyone reasonable can dispute the bottom five. Look at both schedules. BYU is in Utah's bottom five. Who else would be there? Arizona, Arizona State, Washington, UCLA, USC and Oregon State have better records and schedules than BYU. On the flip side, there is no way you could put Utah is BYU's bottom five. Utah beat Washington State (like BYU did). Then you have the 4 patsies listed over and over.

Utah, as bad as they are, would NOT lose to Weber State, Hawaii, Idaho, and New Mexico State. Those 4 teams are 5-37 against a WAC and Big Sky schedule. Hawaii's only win was against Lamar (Who?). Idaho's only win was against New Mexico State. New Mexico State's only win was against Sacramento State. And Weber State's only win was against Southern Utah. This is reality.

The Fiesta Bowl wasn't the big name bowl 40 years ago.
