Congrats to the GREAT Timpview Thunderbirds. It's interesting that I read all the stories on here but there is no mention of Tyler Solorzano, T-bird kicker, whose field goal kick tied the game at the end of regulation and who added 5 PATs during the game. Doesn't he deserve at least a mention in the stories?

Great game by the Birds but this could've easily gone to MC. Proud of the kids from MC and they should be as well. Way to keep it tight until the bitter end kids.

@FaifeauSam - you're right about Tyler. This is the only starting player returning from the 2009 Timpview championship team. He has had a difficult year fighting through injuries that have affected his kicking game. The intense pressure he felt was real. Thoughts of the first game against Alta and so many missed kicks during the season had to be racing through his mind every time he lined up to kick. So proud of his ability to focus and rise as one of the games heroes. He's been a 4 year starting varsity kicker and safety. What a way to finish a great career!

@FaiFeauSam - Read the article from the Timpview viewpoint, he is mentioned prominently in that article.

Sounds like a great game. We drove in from CA a day late to make it to the game. Last one we made was the Bills/Sua-Filo year. Congrats to both sides.

I would love to hear what the MC team was all riled up about, love that stuff, shows their passion.

What a great game but the officials missed the 4th down and 5 when timpview threw the ball and the ball was released passed the line of scrimage and cost Mountain Crest the game. The video shows the quarter backs arm is extended passed the line of scrimage by a yard before the ball leaves his hand.

your wrong. the rule is the qbs ENTIRE BODY has to be over the line of scrimmage in order for it to be an illegal forward pass and Jakes body was CLEARLY behind the 20 yrd line (which was the line of scrimmage). i've seen that play about 20 times now and it looks 100% like a legit forward pass(pretty sure if it wasn't there would be an article about it since its apparent that everyone likes to criticize timpview). so sorry but it was just an amazing play made by an amazing player.

There is a picture of him throwing it a yard behind the line of scrimmage

Proof and real pics are hard to dispute. Perfectly legal play. Can't believe someone actually can't handle a great play by the kid.

A great, make that incredible play by Lloyd. Still don't know how the kid has the instincts to make that play in milliseconds after he tucked it and ran first.

MC was so close. 1 OT play away in 2010 and now this one play away again. That's a great program.

Give TV credit. To march down the field with 1:30 in regulation and make a pressure FG. Then come up clutch in OT. Timpview was the better team. Congrats to both teams. As writers have said, best State Final in Utah HS history.
