10 weeks from now you will be wondering what you ever saw in this coach. Good thing you won the intrasquad game because there won't be many more W's.
The non-conference schedule doesn't get much easier than a 10 win team from the Big Sky (assuming we're talking about D1 teams). Wonder if chris b still thinks the Utes will finish in the middle of the PAC. This is another new low. An 8 win season might feel like prgress at this point.
Why is it that Boylen's worst record was 13 - 18 and that was unacceptable, but a 7 win season from K2 followed by a second season that will likely be less than 13 wins with a cupcake schedule is okay for K2.
One Word:
EMBARRASSING!
These bottom-dwelling Big Sky teams are simply too tough. The Utes just need to stick to 5-win D-III teams and they'll be fine.
Chris B -
Your team lost to the Hornet powerhouse. The good news - it was only by 3.
I think the Utes need to take a page from the Coogies and just blame officiating at every loss. Chris B can you assign a Mussie to handle this for Ute Nation? Coogie in Texas already brought up the second antidote for us, bringing up coaching changes....
It must be miserable playing in the WCC and wondering what D1 basketball is like in big conferences. Then go get beat in your big school debut by a football school. Didn't know Florida State played much bball...
The Utes guard the three pointer just about as well as the Jazz. That was very frustrating. After building a 13 point lead the guards decided that they were going to shoot us out of the game and Bachynski and Lenz were extremely soft in the post defense. Add to that we completely failed to take away the three point shot, failed to rebound, failed to make free throws . . . yup; I'd say we have a lot of work to do. These are correctable mistakes but frustrating nonetheless. And Coug fans, you and Carlino didn't fare much better in Brooklyn last night so please take it somewhere else.

Oh im sorry, how many teams did your conference put into tournament last year? Wait what? Your conference champion didn't even make it?
MESOUTE, you're spot on. This is a game we should have been able to put away by the 13 we were up, but these are games the team needs to evaluate what works in situations and what doesn't. I feel like Cedric Martin got a couple bad calls with blocking fouls when he stepped in to take a couple charges, but when it's coming down to a call like that being so pivotal in the game (I believe the last one resulted in free throws that tied the game), I don't think you should be chancing the game on something like that. The coaches aren't perfect, either, this game should help them know they need to step it up just like the players.
Didn't the Cougars get beat six ways from Sunday last night in NYC? Their fans make me laugh; their delusion and all.
It's frustrating watching this program try to get back on its feet. These are the types of games that Utah has to learn to put away. The good news is that it provided valuable experience in playing from behind in a close game. The loss is embarrassing, but there is an opportunity for the team to learn from their mistakes and improve.
You dont pay much attention, do ya indycrimson... Fla St has made the tourney four straight years and was a 3 seed last year
If anyone watch the game last night you saw a much more athletic and bigger Ute team than last year. We have better shooter's and play makers as well.
I'm not expecting miracle's this year but there is no doubt this team is headed in the right direction!! We will upset some teams this year as they get more used to playing with one another.
Wow how far this team has fallen. It seems to go from bad to worse with each coaching change. What are the guys in the fancy offices doing up on the hill? I'm jumping off of this bandwagon once again. At least we had football until the last couple of years. I hate women's gymnastics so there isn't much left. Skiing? I'm jumping on another bandwagon now... Go USU!
Indy Crimson,
Tell me again how many Pac 10.2 teams went to the NCAA's and how many WCC teams went?
At least BYU is not afraid to schedule tough teams, unlike Utah's patsie non-conference schedule. Willamette, REALLY???
By the way, FSU B-ball team was a top 25 team so yes, they do play other sports than football.
Np need to wonder what basketball is like in the big conference. The WCC is far spuerior to the Pac 10.2 in basketball.
Enjoy a 5 win season.
We cannot be losing to teams like Sacramento State at home when up 13. And what's with this:
“I think it taught us a lesson that we’re not as good as we thought we were,” said senior Cedric Martin. “We need to make sure we stay in the gym and put in the work and make sure our heads are where they should be — all cockiness aside, just throw that away and just play our game.”
What made them think they were good? Beating a D3 team? If that's going around on the team then that's on the coaches. Utah was picked last in the PAC-12 for a reason.
BYU fans stop counting the number of WCC teams that made the tournament last year. You should be counting the number of games you won when you got their.
Down Under
In the conf. rankings Pac-12 is ranked 6th, while the WCC is ranked 11th.
And yes Williamette. Utah is building from the ground up. They are still a few years from even thinking about the tournament. Right now it's just important to get some wins and build confidence.

"BYU fans stop counting the number of WCC teams that made the tournament last year. You should be counting the number of games you won when you got their."
got their what?
In both cases, more WCC teams made the tournament, and WCC teams won more games in the tourney than the PAC.
So what's your point?
