This San Jose hype is silly. Utah St. smashed the Spartans on the road. BYU shouldn't have any trouble either.

I see BYU as a one-point favorite, despite the Spartans' home-field advantage. After all, the Cougars started the season against Washington State's "Air Raid" offense and seemed to hold their own.

Since the cougs have already beaten usu, the extra motivation of trying to win its second wac title in a row, will be enough to get byu over the hump in this game. They know if they can win this tough road game, in a hostile environment, the momentum gained in san jose should be the extra edge needed to carry them over for the game next week against another quality opponent, in yet another hostile environment. Man, it just keeps getting tougher and tougher to win the wac.

Why do you care? If you think BYU is bad then don't post. Explain to me how your post was helpful in anyway?

I didn't say the cougars are bad, I merely indicated it's getting tougher and tougher to win the wac championship. Why so testy? :)

Re: TheNun

I appreciate that BYU is having a winning season - even against WAC teams. I have doubts that my Utes could have the same success against the same teams. Some comments just seem to be based on jealousy rather than sportsmanship.

Time for Ziggy, KVN and Brandon O to rise up and show the NFL scouts.

The Nun, Please stay on topic.

"Since the Cougs have already beaten USU, the extra motivation of trying to win its second WAC title in a row, will be enough to get BYU over the hump in this game."

Unlike the Utes (currently 0-1 in the WAC), who only won two WAC titles in 38 years, BYU (currently undefeated in the WAC) is an expert at winning WAC titles (19 in 38 years, including 10 in a row).

Ironically, BYU's and Utah's chances of winning another conference title in the next few years are about the same.

SJSU gave up a staggering 13 sacks against USU. BYU needs to attack their QB with that kind of aggression. While the Cougs' secondary hasn't been a liability this year the way it has in the past, the defensive strength is still the front 7. The inability to pressure Vaz is what tore up the secondary against OSU. Get the Spartan QB running for his life and the secondary will hold.

didn't we barely beat USU? That said, San Jose should beat BYU with ease if their passing game is running on all cylinders. BYU's defense has never been good against a strong passing offense. San Jose by 17.

They were very lucky to beat USU. And it was in Provo. No comparison for this road game. San Jose State wins.

Utah State was very luck to beat Utah. And that game was in Logan.

After playing in Rice-Eccles, on the Smurf Turf, and in South Bend, I seriously doubt BYU will be even the slightest bit intimidated playing in Spartan Stadium, in fact, it's very likely that BYU will have as many fans as SJSU, since the Spartans only average around 15,000 in a 30,000-seat stadium.

The only thing intimidating about playing the Spartans is they have a very good passing offense.
