As an Army Veteran and an Air Force retiree I am grateful for the men and women and their special families that served our country, forever and for the future needs. They are a special type of individual and even though most will not say too much about what they experienced, their hearts and souls and body were there to protect our country, at all times and in all places, if needed.
Today is a special day for those special people. If President Wilson had been correct, the war that was to end all wars we wouldn't need a military, according to some. However, even though we tried to keep aloof of the troubles in the 1930s and 1940s we were brought into that war that involved so many of our men and women and families. We had a conviction back then to help keep our country from the threat of outside influences to keep our form of government.
We have so many dedicated military members today, actively serving at the pleasure of the President.
We appreciate those people and love their dedicated service for us today and for the future. They have traditions to be our protectors-defenders.
