Come on, DNews, I didn't have any "personal attacks" in my first comment attempt.

Anyhow, mykaljordan, your team usually backs up your big talk, but when they don't, you're always classy. The Dixie-SF game next week will feature, in my opinion, the two best QBs in 3A not named Delacenserie. Both teams earned their way there by beating some great teams. It's barely been more than 5 years since I graduated from Dixie High, but looking at Dixie, JD, Desert Hills, Spanish Fork, and Hurricane this year, I think any one of them could have had an undefeated state championship season in my high school years, so it really speaks to how much the competition has increased in such a short time. Great season, JD, and go Flyers!

Congrats to JD on a fine season! Congrats to Dixie!

So many great teams in 3A this year. Looking forward to one more great game.

Props to Region 9 third seed Dixie, Coach M and staff. I didn’t think you could win. Guess you showed me.

My friend from down south thinks JD lost because their soft region schedule finally caught up to them just like it caught up to Stansbury, the other previously unbeaten that Dixie took down. He points out that in Region 9 play, the teams face a challenging matchup every week because even non-playoff opponents (except CV) play everybody tough. Just ask Dixie. They lost to Snow Canyon, a Region 9 non-playoff team.

My friend says when you play Region 9 teams you can’t expect to blow out an opponent one week, then bring less than your A-game the next week as if you were facing Union or Uintah. If you do that, you get beat. He thinks maybe some JD fans might see that now.

I’m not so sure. But he could be on to something.

Had Juan Diego not beat themselves last night you would not be so proud today. Juan DIego gave this to you on a silver platter. Personal fouls, bad reads by the QB, and poor play calling by the Coache by running the same plays up the middle. Yes you won, but you should be thankful Juan Diego helped you win by there vast mistakes.

Spanish Fork by 21 next week. Sorry. Just didn't think you all did anything special except beat a team that beat themselves. Juan Diego should have won that game and everyone knows it.

Just around the corner. Most JD fans lose with class. I think that JD has some of the best fans who respect the other teams. You give JD a bad name when you make these comments. Don't degrade your fans.

You're wrong. That is all.

One observer- Your "friend" (you) isn't on to anything. Blah, blah, Region 9, blah blah.. It gets really old. My "friend" once told me that when you have to consistently talk yourself up, maybe you really aren't that good. Sure Dixie won a game last night. The entirety of Region 9 didn't. Everyone who watches or follows 3A football knows that JD lost the game, and more or less handed it to Dixie. The rear kicking they imposed on your Hurricane team proved they were dominant. However, sometimes the best team doesn't win. At all levels, there are always underdogs who win big games. Congrats to Dixie. But you guys down there need to learn to win with class the way that JD has done for years. Again, I'm NOT a JD supporter. In fact, after watching and losing to them for years in our region, I like to see them lose usually, I was actually pulling for Hurricane for 3 years in those title games. I'm learning now, that I shouldn't have. JD has shown this non-fan one thing. Win with class, lose with class. R9 should follow.

@justaroundthecorner

That is why they play the game, instead of just awarding the win based upon what people think.

I have to say most JD fans are classy. They let us tailgate with them last year before we lost to them and even afterwards when they could have been out celebrating and rubbing our faces in it. So please @justaroundthecorner, don't take down their status as classy when winning and gracious when losing. That being said, JD didn't play their best game last night, but that happens. Just like a snow storm happens and limits Dixie to 10 throwing attempts. Things happen and you have to adjust and Dixie did that just slightly better than JD last night. Thanks for the great game JD and I hope to see you again next year.

My son from region 9 played on the all star team last summer with some Juan Diego boys. They were some of the nicest, classiest boys there.

Joseywales don't be so bitter. Region 9 does have some over zealous fans. Don't lump all of southern Utah as arrogant fans. I notice that you have a hatred for southern Utah when you make comments on dnews. You never give credit to them winning. It was the northern team losing or bad calls. You lose credibility when there is always excuses. You are right everyone in 3-A knows JD lost because Dixie beat them.

Wow

Both teams played hard. High School kids playing their hearts out. A great team can make another great team not perform as great as normal. Both teams accomplished that. Each coach had the other team scouted well. Hats off to both teams for having great seasons and playing to a 1point game. It doesn't get better than that. Ok I know, I know, I say that because I live down south and Dixie won. You are wrong, I love great high school games, and that was a great game

Redrocks- No hatred here. I love So.ut. I have a nice place down there and even pay taxes too. Go figure. I have never blamed bad officiating or given excuses as you think. What I was saying and try to listen this time, is that JD was the better team and everyone knows it. However, like in all upsets, Dixie took what was given to them and turned it into a win. I am giving credit to Dixie for doing just that. If you follow college ball, A&M did just that to Bama yesterday. I highly doubt except for a small sliver of Aggies, that you would find anyone who would believe that Bama isn't the better team. But, they lost. Life goes on. Again, repeatedly telling someone how great you are, doesn't make it so. Let the titles do the talking. IF that happens I'll surely exclaim from on high about the greatness of southern Utah football.

If I use Joseys thinking then cedar was the best team in the state but we were just unlucky every week. Everyone knows if hurricane had their qb then jd would have been done a week ago and hurricane would still be undefeated. everyone knows if dhhs wouldn't have had so many players hurt last week then they would still be playing too.

Five straight trips to the finals seems to give Reg 9 a little cred. Hurricane would have been much closer to JD if Prince was playing.
Dixie vs SF is going to be a very exciting game. I think it will come right down to the wire and Dixie will win in OT.
