I too have a special needs high schooler and have found kids like Caron Jones and teammates to be indispensable. What great young men.
Great story, if more people would just be kind, what a better world we could live in. This young man is a great example and an inspiration!
What a great story! How awesome are these kids to stand up for Chy. It is sickening to think some people would bully anybody, especially someone with special needs, but it is inspiring and compelling to see there are people who stand up and protect that which is good and right.
These young men truly embody the principle of Mahatma Ghandi when he said, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." WELL DONE! Way to set a great example for others to follow!
There is some good left in the world. I was beginning to wonder.
Thank you!
Great story! Everyone needs to follow this example.
Good job Joe on coaching these guys right!
What a great kid!
Great story, Its nice to see these young men help this girl out. I always thought special needs student were off limits to being teased or bullied.
Great story. Shows that small actions can change the world. For that little girl and her mom it changed their world. She did not have to worry about going to school and being picked on, she could have friends and just enjoy her school experience.
Kids like that are some of the real hero's of this country.
Great kids. They are the real heroes for going beyond themselves and showing what charity and love mean. Way to be!
Great kids but I am still not sure what mormonism had to do with it.
It only took 11 comments for someone to bring up and question the Mormon perspective of the article. Thanks mightymite...if you would have read who the author was you'd see he writes for the Mormon Times section of the paper. That mighty be "what mormonism had to do with it."
I think the Adults have spoiled this. You can look in the window, but you should not disturb the people or objects within the window. Now I think this is spoiled for everyone.
This is the solution to bullying and these boys are a great example to all of us. Wonderful that these guys didn't feel their deeds were anything to bring attention to. They just did what was right because it was right. Fantastic!
These boys are men of honor the best of the best
If the article had mentioned the kid attended mass regularly, or worshiped at a synagogue, would mightymite have been asking any questions?
Nice job by a team of nice kids, and great leadership by the young man who led the way.
Great story, simple but effective solution to bullying. I'll take such kindness anywhere I can get it, as it is how good will overcome evil in the world. This really lifts me in so many ways. God bless that we all might remember to act in like manner.
These young men certainly do deserve commendation, applause, and thanks.
But WHY is it necessary to state the faith of one of them ("Jones, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, started to investigate the matter. . .") That has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the article? If he had been of another faith, would you have mentioned it?
@Physics27: There is a lot of good in the world. The majority of the world is great.
Great Kids Do Great Things !!!!! Be it Mormons ,Catholics etc. is part of this as well as Great Parenting !!!! I have always told my kids if they ever see anyone getting picked on to step in and do what they can. Bullies can really damage people,s lives . Great Story !!!
