OK, first let me disclose that I am a cyclist. And I am sorry that this young man was involved in an accident. But the following facts are glaringly obvious:
1. 7 AM on November 1st. This is still almost full dark.
2. The rider was wearing dark clothes.
3. The rider was wearing headphones(!)
4. The rider failed to yield to traffic.
I'm sorry to say, he was invisible and oblivious. There is a right way and a wrong way to ride, especially in the dark, and that was the wrong way.
Respect the cars. Differential mass kills.
