The travel world has decades of handling this type of situation. You have exigencies such as this storm and the impact is taken care of in a day or two or even more. People adapt to the situation as they would rather be safe than on time. Staying in the terminal and sleeping on the floors happens more often than some would know. We have the best transportation system of all in a country that is as large as the United States of America.
We are blessed to have had leaders in the past that knew we needed an infrastructure for our commerce and military needs. We took out of the budget monies that would benefit our country and also produce revenue for companies and individuals.
It was cheap and it took time and energy and long term plans to maintain and keep up those highways, rivers, dams, airports, terminals for aircraft, ships, and railway.
Our fore fathers knew of this type of growth in their vision. They had state's rights and some federal taskings in their documents. They knew they didn't want a king or dictator.
Hence business or commerce is very important and is a blessing.
