BTW, You make your own luck. You get lucky bounces because you out
hustle your opponent and you are in the position to get them.
Mr. Harmon;Maybe it's the mile high Utah air, but you have 3 of
these predictions wrong. In the 3 ugliest games of the PAC12 week, you will
more likely see:Cal 23, Utah 10Stanford 13, WSU 17GT 28,
BYU 13.While the Ducks and Beavers roll on.....
Re: Proud UteFair enough, but you have to think that some
significant coaching change (Offensive coordinator, QB coach) will take place in
the next few years. If that does take place there is a decent chance that we
return to QB factory form. Regardless we have a lot of talent at the QB
position, we just need to utilize it.
Wiscougarfan, On paper you're correct. The rub is your coaching staff
doesn't seem to know how to take advantage of it. Have to wonder what
Hill is thinking knowing he jumped over two highly acclaimed QBs and will he be
riding the bench as soon as Magnum or the next prize recruit is on board. I think for BYU anyway history favors LaVells system to Bronco's.
RE: UC Baller and Chris B.Our pipeline is already pretty stacked...
Lloyd wouldn't have much chance of ever playing despite his impressive HS
numbers. But I'm o.k. with Hill and Magnum over the next 3-5 years.
"Lucky Bounces?" Okay, stop this TO's which we will be happy with.
One more TO's then Bronco need to look at his backup qb and get ready for
next season. We know T. Hill will be our starter next year I think.
Pretty sad day when the Y needs 'lucky bounces' to win games. Agree
with UC Baller, except I would add that at this point ANY high school
quarterback would be better than what the Y has now. Yes, a sad day indeed. GT
wins this one handily. I was right about ND, and I'm right about this.
I personally don't think the cougar program is so bad that it needs luck to
win but coming from Homer Harmon.....that says something.
UC baller.....BYU will have a really hard time attracting athletes unless they
are in a conference. The Y's football program is on a downword spiral.
BYU should beg for Timpviews Jake Lloyd at QB.42 TDs verses 6 INTs
this year.He already throws a better ball than RN, has stronger arm,
better decision ability and is a player. While at it they should try and get
6'5 WR Dax Raymond. Think he also leads the state in TD catches. He is
better than any other we have offered in this class.Wake up Cougs
and look around!
I can not believe that Nelson thinks he can make a go of it against GT. Tebow
was so much more mature as a Collage QB. And to compare Nelson to Tebow is an
insult. Nelson should have been a wildcat player. Watching him play ND was just
hard to figure his passes. He threw behind on most recievers and one that
should have got to #2 went wild on the field, and that was a 6 point play!!
Nelson has been working with his recivers for months and he still can not
connect when he needs to. Nelson has a pic6 alomst every game he has played in.
And he is a good part why BYU can not win the big one. I don't think BYU
will be bowl eligale this year not with Nelson. What Bronco sees in Nelson as a
QB is to know that Nelson will be gone next year-Thank goodness. Lark should
have a chance to play against GT after Nelson's no show game. LARK is a
better player than Nelson, Bronco just does not want to addmit it.
Instead of looking for lucky bounces, Riley should be looking for open
I love this game plan!-- Hope for lucky bounces.-- Why didn't we think of
that before?!That should carry us over the topl--BYU 28 GT 27
With Riley Nelson in as QB, we'll need all the lucky bounces we can get.
Rather than hoping for "lucky bounces", Riley needs to hit his receivers
rather than throwing a 5 yard pass behind the tight end so as he reaches back it
bounces up for an INT. I don't see 65+ points scored Saturday.
I can see BYU scoring 21 and GT about 24, with at least 6 of those coming from a
short field from an INT or fumble by BYU. Not much confidence in Bronco, Doman,
Riley and the kickers.
PipesI'll go the other way. Even mediocre offenses can look
good against a porous defense. Their strength against our strength. Their
weakness against our weakness. I say 49 - 45, Riley looks good but nobody gives
him credit for it. Punting, as little of it as their is, plays a role, and in
the end the pick 6 belongs to KVN, not the Ramblin' Wreck. Sign
BYU's offense putting up 34 points is a bit optimistic. I'm thinking
the final will be more like 47 - 17 with 6 of GT's points coming off of a
Nelson pick-6. The only real question is will Nelson throw more than 2
interceptions? Hate to be so pessimistic about the Cougars but Nelson's
record speaks for itself. The data definitely support my prediction.
