A 2-year gap is too short. Utah's ONLY chance is to be ready in case another US venue is chosen and drops out (like 1976 Colorado).

And the likelihood Salt Lake would get the Games again so soon after 2002 is nil.
St. Moritz: twice in 20 years. Austria: twice in 12 years. France: twice in 24 years. Japan: twice in 26 years. SLC getting it a second time is not an impossibility, nor would it even be that groundbreaking. You have to remember, the winter olympics are always going to be northern hemisphere, and have many fewer options than summer olympics.
