Wow - I felt so green as a 19 year old missionary I can't imagine what it would feel like to be out there at 18. I hope young men don't rush it - but I'm afraid many will simply because they feel like they have to. I still think most would be better served to work for a year out of HS and earn a good portion of their mission then go at age 19 or 19 1/2. Parents now are going to have to foot more of the bill. There will be those who are ready at 18 and if they are ready then go but I hope we don't get a rush of unprepared kids right out of HS and into Russia. Bishops are going to have to monitor things closely.
