his little island may get crowded with others following him there is the empty suit gets re-elected.
Hey Sean, nice bit of sensationalistic reporting, there. Being laid off is NOT the same as being fired.
Threatening to fire workers if Obama wins? That's extortion.
"In the email, Siegel attributed his success to 42 years of working hard while living within his means."
And that's a joke... you really aren't living in your means if you're the owner of the largest new home in America that's in foreclosure.
Sounds like a heck of an employer. More concerned about inheritance for his children than for his employees well-being. And using his employees as political leverage is a great touch too.
A vote for Obama the dictator....is a vote for more americans to the unemployment line.....its economics!
Maybe he can move to the same island that Alec Baldwin was going to leave the U.S. for in 2000 when President Bush was elected. Be kinda nice if these guys would actually follow through on their promises.
This isn't a very Christian thing to do, Siegel. (Mormon either)
Really? What a joke, this guy wants to threaten his employees to subscribe to his political ideology or he'll fire them? You know, this guy deserves to lose it all if he's going to act like a baby about a presidential election. If some Obama supporter did this the right-wing media would come un-glued!
Re: "CEO . . . tells workers he'll fire them if Obama wins"
What he really said was Obama will fire them. And that's the unvarnished truth.
Businesses, particularly small businesses -- that provide most of the jobs in the Nation -- are hanging on by fingernails, or less, hoping Mitt wins and they get, at least a chance, to return to profitability.
If Obama wins, the day after the election will be forever known as "Black Wednesday," for all the businesses that will be forced to close, and all the families that will lose their livelihood.
And the day after that will forever be known as "Red Thursday," the day the regime uses its deliberate homicide of private industry as an excuse to nationalizes all industry, declare martial law, make us all slaves of the government, and take its best shot at killing off America.
Most business owners know it.
Only a few are brave enough to say it.
This guy is breaking my heart...
procuradorfiscal,

Thanks for the laugh. It really cheered me up. Sometimes hyperbole is just what I need. Here's what the world actually thinks:
"Aug 17 (Reuters) - Twice as many business executives around the world say the global economy will prosper better if incumbent U.S. president Barack Obama wins the next election than if his Republican challenger Mitt Romney does, a poll showed on Friday.
Democrat Obama was chosen by 42.7 percent in the 1,700 respondent poll, compared with 20.5 percent for Romney. The rest said "neither".
The result was different among respondents in the United States, where a slim majority thought Romney would be better for their businesses than Obama."
Boy, somebody's been spoiled by the Bush tax cuts...
Guess What the same things were said about Bill Clinton being elected. I wish they would realize it is the republicans that causes the depressions and the democrats that have to clean up their messes.
He won't have to. With a sagging economy people will not be disposed to spend money on an up scale resort, he can down size. That's a more politically correct term.

"Threatening to fire workers if Obama wins? That's extortion"
No that is reality and will be happening a lot if Obama wins. To all democrats and Independents...welcome to the truth that business will face with your guy.
I really hate bosses who think they can impose their political or religious ideas on their employees. A person ought to have the right to put in an honest day's work for an honest day's pay without having to be harassed by their bosses sending out political or religious propaganda and threatening those who disagree with the boss' agenda.
Memo to bosses: if you want to preach politics or religion, start a PAC or a Church, but keep that nonsense out of the workplace!

I read about this on CNBC. They actually interviewed the guy and he has worked out an arrangement with his creditors so his house is no longer in foreclosure. I guess they didn't tell their brethren at MSNBC, where it appears you get your info - either that or MSNBC chose to ignore it because it did not fit their agenda.
They also published the e-mail he sent to his employees. It was rather weak - refered to Thomas Jefferson as the founder of the constitution - hah, he was in France when it was written and was aghast when he first read it.
The e-mail also said he threatened to shut down his business and retire in the Caribbean. Dumb, just dumb. If the company has value, he can SELL it, even at a reduced price should BO get re-elected, and then retire. more likely he'd just lay off a bunch more people and keep his business.
Procuradorfiscal, there are many other small business owners that are dreading the election of Romney as they fear he will lower tariffs on goods coming from China, this will cause these manufacturers to lose more business overseas causing the end of American manufacturing.
Of course, larger corporations and small retailers will like the lower costs but the lack of customers able to purchase the items is only a small nuisance.
There are stories on both sides. Unfortunately, taxes will be going up for everyone anyway at the end of the year.
John Boehner has stated that the House won't vote on anything after the election until the new class has been sworn in.
The Senate won't have 60 votes for either party, so nothing will pass the Senate that doesn't include tax increases or leaving the newly increased taxes in place for the top 5% of the country.
There is no way around this. It is going to happen and it doesn't matter who is elected President since nothing will pass Congress to stop the impact for everyone anyway. This is now and has been a Congress problem, not a Presidential problem.
Vote for Obama. I think I will go ski someplace else with a man who wants to use extortion to win votes. Sad day in the country when people act like this.
