Kyle has always said his #1 priority is and will always be recruiting Utah kids. LDS or not. This change in policy by the church is good for us.
bballjunkie, Weddle is not a RM. However, Kruger, Tony Bergstrom, and Sione Pouha are, along with probably a couple other Utes in the NFL, so I get your point and agree with you. I don't think the fact that LDS members are a vast minority in the NFL has as much to do with LDS football players' mentalities as the fact that LDS members are a vast minority in the country in general.
This missionary age change thing changes some things. I think it is a good thing overall. How that translates in college sports will be interesting as well.
Kyle will handle this just fine.
I'm looking forward to Travis Wilson getting more action. Hays has been steady but he has his limitations.
With the offensive weapons that Utah has this year, it's very disappointing to see how low they rank. They did a much better job last week of protecting the QB and creating holes - hopefully that kind of play can continue this week against UCLA. The Utes need a win in a big way.
Go Utes!
