@LonestarRunner
I find your comment hilarious since there are numerous BYU fans posting on a Utes story within minutes of the game ending. Pot calling the kettle black, no?
There's no reason to wait on starting Hays. The season is already a bust, so the Utes might as well let Wilson gain some experience for next season.
Come on people. USC is everything that is wrong with college football. They got a slap on the hand for absolute corruption. With what they paid Bush, over 180.000 some say, they should have gotten the football death penalty. Put the petty stuff aside. I love the cougars but SC is lower than low. Would have loved to see the Utes clean their clocks. I despise cheaters who get away with it.
Utah hung in there only trailing by 3 going in to the 4th QTR and could have actually had the lead in the 4th had it not been for the offensive lineman wandering too far down field on the 2nd QTR TD pass. Probably wouldn't have mattered though as USC simply had too much talent... Barkley, Woods and Lee are in a completely different class than any Utah offensive player.... they will all play in the NFL. The Utes showed some heart and I think the spread will probably be a little better offensive scheme for Utah moving forward.
phoenix, since it was announced three years ago that Utah would join the PAC12, your boys are 0-3 vs. your favorite PAC12 cellar dweller. Nice post, your smack talk really comes from a position of strength.
Utes can no longer hide the facts. Gary Anderson carried Whit for years. The last two seasons show that. How long will the U allow the interim coach to keep the reigns?

I find your retort laughable. Since BYU fans didn't have a game tonight, what else should BYU fans be talking about other than the "biggest game ever" in RES?
It's Utah fans who have been beating their chests for the last two years about how great the Utes are and how insignificant and irrelevant the Cougars are, yet Utah fans scarcely have time to focus USC, because they're so obsessed with BYU.
I'm a cougar - as in BYU cougar and I was truly cheering on the Utes. I wanted them to beat USC.
BTW, Chris B where are you? You predicted a win. Almost sounded like you guaranteed a win after you attended the Arizona game?
Living in the P12 will be tough for the Utes. But in fairness imagine what would happen to the Cougars if their dreams came true and were accepted to the Big12...
Speed kills...
People talk about how much faster we are than BYU, but our problem tonight was that USC was that much faster than us.
Looks like USC isn't as good as we thought they were based on this game
Well, we beat the spread! Its only a slight consolation knowing that the Cougars would have lost this game by much more.

Y is Byu fans talking? U have not beat a good team since u beat utah in 2009,the last 3 year byu is 0-4 vs top 25 teams . BYU is about to lose there next 4 games Utah State, Oregon State, Notre Dame, and Georgia Tech.
If there is one thing that can be learned from this beat down it is this...
4 - 5 star recruits > 2-3 star recruits.
Well it was an interesting game those first few minutes, then USC settled in and you know the rest of the story.
Utes scored more than I gave them credit for but end the end, it made no difference.
Poor Muss... they could not carry their team.
The season is all but over except for the New Mexico or Kraft Fight Hunger Bowls. I'm not sure if the Utes are up for these. Doesn't look good but we knew that.
Here's a collective Kleenex for all of you and my shoulder to cry on.
Chin up, there's always next week.
The called back TD kept Utah from the lead at halftime. The third quarter saw Utah's offense sputter, but the defense, although tired and on the field too much because of the offenses three and outs, held USC scoreless in the third quarter.
The fourth quarter is where the game got blown open. Utah pins USC deep down only three, the an 85 yard one play drive happens, and the the pick 6 follows.
The game was close Duckhunter, just not real close. A few plays decide outcomes against good teams. That cost BYU against Utah, and cost Utah against USC.
Although I am down, and don't look for moral victories, the offensive line cmae around tonight, Utah will need them the rest of the way. Taking to long to gel (O line) cost Utah the Utah State game. That and a offensive pass interference call in overtime
USC was superior tonight, but that was not surprising. I am glad Utah showed heart though. White IV will now get more carries as he looked back to form. he had only 13 carries, but over a 5 yards a carry on USC is a good sign.
It's so hilarious to read all of the comments from Cougar fans on a Ute football article who claim Ute fans are obsessed with BYU.
What's even more hilarious are comments about how USC gifted Utah 14 points ... strange, I thought I saw Fakahafua tearing that ball from Barkley's arms. And wasn't that Star bull-rushing the USC center to cause/recover a fumble?
If those were gifts then what would you call the easy pick 6 Utah "gifted" USC? And how about the touchdown Utah gave back to USC when an offensive lineman was 2 yards past the line of scrimmage (a complete non-factor) when called for "ineligible receiver downfield"???
No cougar fans, the game was EXACTLY what the final score read ... 38-28 USC. USC was the better team ... by 10 points. Yeah, USC ... a team that could still conceivably compete for the national championship when all is said and done.
And as for "BYU and USU have better records against the Pac-12" ... Let's see, USC and ASU? Or Washington State? Utah State can brag since they beat the U head to head. BYU fans have zero to brag about. ZERO!
Colorado is licking their chops saying, "Finally, we won't be in the dungeon this year!"
This game shows, the utes are no better then they were in the WAC.

Nice try, but the truth is you're embarrassed that the "mighty" Utes gave BYU fans so much cannon fodder because of Utah's inept play against the Trojans.
Face it, what you would have really found "hilarious" would have been complete silence from BYU fans.
@motorbike
Your bitter diatribe is delicious. Thank you for making my morning.
LOL!
All the pre game hype about how great Whittingham is after a bye week.....what a joke. I will continue to believe that Whittingham is way over-rated. Utah will not make a bowl game this year. What a shame.
