Anderson has restored the rivalry. Great job. I hope he stays at USU for a while. In the past the games against USU were not interesting, but this year should be a great game at LaVell Edwards. Hope the Cougars can pull it off and think they will by 7.

Hill will be the starting QB but that doesn't really change all that much in defense prep for USU. But, it is likely USU better not count on intercepting one of Reilly's strange passes.

Looking forward to it. And you can "mark my words" or "write it down" that I never guarantee anything when a bunch of testosterone challenged 17-24 year olds are hyped up.

Having a "Black out" is a bad idea, but I'll be there in my BYU Blue and White, not the Aggie blue we stole.

If Utah St. wins this could be the start of four great weeks!

And if BYU destroys USU (a la Hawaii) will they continue to whine about the scheduling arrangement they agreed to? Will they continue to complain about Riley's transfer, BYU darkening up their school colors, etc? Doubt it. Don't get me wrong, I like USU, but the hate that Urban Meyer brought to football within the state (Anderson took with him to USU) just isn't good and makes the games less exciting to participate in. I am okay with the three major football teams in the state playing each other only if the fans root for their teams rather than against other schools. We aren't that far removed from where the state had BYU fans and anti-BYU fans. Hopefully that is changing.

It's sad that you take anything that Aggies say against BYU as whining... It actually sounds like whining... Riley's transfer didn't hurt us, Keeton is better for us. The school colors thing has been playful banter as long as I can remember... (I've never heard it said in an angry fashion) and quite frankly, I hear fans from all schools whine about other schools... And Meyer and Anderson didn't bring any anti-other school things with them... It was already here... Now the teams are just better so its more noticeable... Actually Meyer brought a lot of attention for Utah schools. It improved all 3 schools... And now that Anderson has brought improvement to USU, it will increase the attention for all 3 schools even more.

I agree however that we should quit cheering against our rivals and just cheer for our teams... If BYU, Utah, and Utah State all do well, we all look good...

Just an idea. Anti-BYU comes a lot because, for example, at Utah State, there is an idea that BYU fans are prideful and bigheaded (not always true) but I have seen cases when it is.

Whinner - BYU had an announcer for several years which introduced whinning to the highest level. Every call against the Y was a terrible call from the officials. Every call for the Y was justly earned. Most one sided announcer in America. Sports is all about getting under the opponents skin. It looks like us Aggies are winning the skin match. Winners - Loosers I know that we will win! Go Aggies

I'm a huge BYU fan and wouldn't mind seeing the rivalry kicked up a notch with Utah State. I just hope that the name calling and other crap that goes on between BYU fans and Utah fans doesn't happen in this rivalry. I've always respected the Aggie fans and would like to keep it that way. That being said absolutely root for your team! Even do some trash talking. Let's just keep it at the respectable level. Go Cougs!
P.S. I liked Riley better as an Aggie.
I think we should throw everybody off and start Lark.

Thanks for your comments! As an Aggie fan myself, I want the rivaly heated up as well.
I have never been able to cheer for BYU and I am not sure why. I do find myself cheering for Utah when they are not playing U State... how does that make sense? Who knows.

My mom was even a cougar.

Even more odd... I coached football in Utah County for a number of years and have a number of kids I coached on all 3 College teams in the state... and I STILL can't root for the Y.

I think I know a few reason.... dating back YEARS, prob before the current players were even born.

Anyway, glad my Ags are finally playing up, I hope that we can keep Gary around just like Stu in basketball!

So go Ags... and I guess go Cougs too. Looking forward to a barnburner Friday night.

To all my old players on both teams... LOVE YOU BOYS! Play like Vikings, play hard and do work!
