Regarding claiming your home office on your taxes - IF you are renting, go ahead and save a smidgeon on your taxes. If you are buying, or own. your own home, DO NOT do this. If you do, and then EVER try to sell your home, the IRS will get in your face over your having previously claimed part of your home as a business expense - it gets messy FAST. Check with any reputable realtor, who will confirm this.
