This article brought up a great point: Social media is not only effecting girls' self-esteem, but it can also harm their cognitive development. I watched many films about the negative affect of the media on women, but my two favorite are Eve Ensler's V-Day documentary (about women standing up against domestic violence and against the media) and Jill Bauer and Ronna Gradus' documentary Sexy Baby (follows three different females and how society affected and continues to affect their lives). I would recommend these documentary to any Gender studies student or professors. It is a great way to display how the media affects women.
