Our cats helped raise our children, and now other cats are a hit with grandchildren. One of our sons had difficulty with reading and preferred reading to cats than practicing with humans. When our children had tough times, often they turned to the felines for comfort. Right now, one of our young new kitties is growing at an older resident. That provides some "interaction" for me while all the descendants are back in their places and we won't see them for awhile.
