"You want me to be ambassador there NOW?.... Um, thanks?"
Going to be a difficult assignment. The whole middle east is a powder keg of anti-americanism just waiting to explode. I hope they let the marines do their job and secure our embassy there. We don't need another tragedy like the one that just cccured in Libya.
Being Ambassador in a Muslim country today is liking walking a tight rope over a huge unpredictable rumbling geyser. May he have both the wisdom and inspiration to maintain our interests and develop great contacts who can become friends of the U.S. and Church.
A dangerous but distinguished assignment. We will keep him and his family in our prayers. There are lots of other jobs he could be accepting, with his resumé...
If only more good men would serve selflessly. I will send out prayer requests to my Baptist church members and our Catholic community also. May our Lord keep them safe.
(wish I could get DN to change my location to Cedar Hills, UT -- I've asked them to). Anne Beecroft and fam are in my ward -- great people -- we will keep Robert in our prayers, asking the Lord to keep him safe and to fill him with wisdom to deal with these very difficult and dangerous times.
