This illustrates why Utahs' AD and Kyle are not willing to schedule football teams like BYU or any other decent teams. If they play teams like Northern Colorado they can win but if they lose to pac 10.2 team in there conference they can hide under “it’s a BCS team. Utah, Boise State, Utah and teams like BYU have had respect around the football Country for their willingness to play anyone. Those days are past for Utah now. it’s ironic that Utah's complaint against BYU in the past was BYU has a big head and they are arrogant. Now Utah is so arrogant that they either feel they are too good to play BYU or BYU is too good of a team to play during their pac 10.2 schedule. So Utah is either to full of themselves to a degree that far ever exceeds BYU's supposed arrogance (BYU never would have refused to play their rival) or they are COWARDS!!!. I believe it’s a bit of both at Utah. There is no disrespect in loosing if you give it your best effort but to refuse to play is arrogance and cowardice at its highest form
It seems like BYU fans want Utah to lose every game, doesn't make sense to me... I like to see the Utah teams win every game... Except when they play my Ags!!! The best thing that can happen for any team in Utah, be it BYU, Utah, USU is if they all win every other game of the year.... My hope for BYU and Utah would be that they would only lose to us... It makes all of the programs look better... Honestly, I don't care who wins between Utah and BYU, but I wish them both the best the rest of the season... Who wouldn't want to see all three of these schools finish with 10+ wins... That would be sweet... That would help recruiting and I would be cheering them all on in their respective bowls... Proud of my Ags...
Is this the same USU that BYU blocked from being in the MWC?
Replace the Y on the cougar helmet with an H. As in Hypocrites.
Lake Powell, Why did BYU play Weber St. today, rather than Alabama, Michigan, USC, Florida or Ohio St? So much for that alleged respect for your program.
BYU is full of themselves if they are going to get anywhere as an independent. Arrogance leads to playing WAC teams on the road like San Jose St & New Mexico St. Especially when You can't even schedule real games in November when it matters.
@ Spokane Ute
The refs were actually fairly decent, and they were actually refs from the PAC. Also plenty of key calls went against the Aggies... This was a defensive battle. And USU won because of great plays. Like the blocked punt, the blocked FG. Your offensive line does suck, and that is why for the first half we were in your backfield all day, and why John White was fairly ineffective, but OUR defense was incredible.

Nope.
Arrogance leads to LOSING to WAC teams on the road like Utah State.
Utah 0-1 in the WAC
USU 1-0 in the PAC
BYU 1-0 in the PAC
The biggest hypocrites in the state of Utah reside on the hill.
Is this the same USU that Utah blocked from being in the WAC/MWC and refuses to play in Logan anymore? Replace the U on the Utes helmet with an H - as in Hypocrites.
Why did Utah play Northern Colorado last week, rather than Alabama, Michigan, USC, Florida or Ohio St? So much for that alleged respect for your program.
Utah is full of themselves if they think that are going to get anywhere as a bottom dweller in any conference. Arrogance leads to LOSING to teams like Colorado and Utah State, especially when you can't even beat 10-loss teams in November when it matters.
Duckhunter,
I actually agree with everything in your post from 7:53 am, except for the part about BYU being Utah's bowl game. How do you figure when Utah has owned the Cougars in recent years, gone 9-1 in bowl games in the last 10 years including 2 BCS bowl wins. Maybe BYU was Utah's bowl game 15-20 years ago, but not now.
Give credit to the Aggies, they beat Utah on offense, defense, special teams and coaching. Kyle's teams have a knack for coming out flat in 2-3 games every year. They were good enough to overcome flat starts in 2008, but this team isn't that good. Urban's teams never came out flat... he always had them ready to play.
The PI call on Murphy was a good call. However, the USU defender did interfere with Christopher on the final play. But that's how the game goes sometimes. Utah recovered a fumble against BYU 2 years ago that was a poor call which helped the Utes win 17-16. Tough luck Utes, now put it behind you and play better next week. It will be a tight game... slight edge to BYU.
Hey,wait! Wasn't Utah supposed to be one of those elite BCS teams? Didn't they schedule Utah State only to pad their schedule with an easy early win? Shoulda spent more time on the practice field and less time reading their own press clippings.
Night Owl,
You need to do some homework. Start by looking at BYU's November schedule for next year. It has been mentioned over and over that BYU's schedule would take a few years to be where they wanted it to be. Arrogance is making baseless accusations because you are blinded by hate.

My my my! More follies from BYU fans. The season is only two weeks along and you think you are Notre Dame. Problem is ND does not play teams like Weber St.
And you are still 6-9 all time against San Jose St!
And 3-8-1 all time against Colorado!

Desperation leads to filling your schedule with Idaho, Weber St, San Jose St & New Mexico St.
Gotta pad that 10 wins somehow.
LOL!

A lot of folks eeem to be struggling with the truth. The pass interference call at the end of the game, change the entire out come. It was a horrible call. Anyone who denies that is looking at this through blue colored glsses;plain and simple.
@spokane Ute
yeah but you cant use the same excuses byu fans ALWAYS use when they lose.. it's just not right and not fair. only they can use the refs as an excuse EVERY TIME they lose.
and yes that pass interference call changed the whole outcome of the game cause they easily could have called defensive pass interference the NEXT play as well. but its funny watchin these byu fans act like they have already beat utah. hahahaha thats the funniest thing to me.then you hae y fans telling u fans that they just "need to be quiet for now" hahaha you're the last fan base to be talkin to somebody about bein quiet, especially after that embarrassing loss last year in provo.
@Spokane, he pushed off and McKade Brady sold it well, and I doubt he truly flopped because that is a HUGE risk to take... Even K-Whitt didn't complain about the call. You then had 2 plays to get it in the endzone, and didn't. Our defense kept you to under 100 yards rushing... WAY more to you losing than 1 call.
@spokane and sports realist, talking about calls is pretty sad... It happens every game... There are calls that go both ways... Like the unsportsmanlike conduct that I could see from the 15th row the whole game... U of U players hit players away from the play after the whistle a lot, but only Kruger was called for his unsportsmanlike play... The refs did an incredible job, I was actually very impressed...
@ VAGGie,
Yeah right, keep telling your self that. Your Ags got the win, but the officials had a majory say in what happened. The beauty of it is, if we run the table, or even lose 1 or more 2 games, we can still play in a BCS bowl. How does that work with the Aggies, or BYU? Just askin.......
Spokane Ute
As the announcers said, it may not be called much, but the pass interference was a legitimate call. The most clueless part of your argument, however, is pulling the "homered" card when the refs were PAC 12 refs.

WACpaddled
The Utes just got paddled, BY A WAC TEAM, for the 2nd straight time you've faced a WAC team.
Utah 0-1 in the WAC
Own it!

Calm planning is filling BYU's schedule with teams like Texas, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Boise State, West Virginia, and Georgia Tech, and maybe even Utah, if the Utes have the guts to continue scheduling their natural rivals.
Your desperate whining about BYU's short-term need to fill its schedule with a few WAC teams during its first 2 years as an Independent is quickly running out of steam.
Time to find a new screen name, because this one just isn't working anymore.
WACpaddled
The Utes are lucky they don't schedule WAC teams very often, because it's quite obvious, they're too good for U.
What I'm worried about is this next weeks game against Wisconsin. I was hoping they would win this last Saturday and keep their lofty ranking (which would have kept BYU out). Maybe they would have been looking past us a bit, and it would have been an "easier" game with them. I still think we can win, but we're going to have to bring our "A" game. GO AGGIES!!

How about ProvoPaddingTheirSchedule?
Interesting, you would think teams would line up to schedule BYU in the future. It's the other way around. BYU needs teams to fill its schedule.
