First off I am and always will be a Ute. Utah fans stop with the excuse, we
were not very good Friday night we are going to have to be so much better to do
what we all want our Utes to do. Officiating never results in a loss, and for
those of you Ute or cougar who think so have never had a jock strap on. It
isn't a tie goes to the runner, you are either out or safe (Period).Good job to the Aggies and very honestly I wouldn't want to be a
cougar this week. Kyle will have this team ready, it's at our place, byu
is a very good team that is going to see another very good team on the field
Saturday.Utah fans stop the denial, byu fans your team had not one
thing to do with USU winning. I can't wait for Saturday its's sad that
this will be the last time until 2016 but after being on this rag for the past
year or so it's time for us to go our seperate ways for a while.
CGOrem, UTCalm planning is filling BYU's schedule with

future. It's the other way around. BYU needs teams to fill its schedule.
What I'm worried about is this next weeks game against Wisconsin. I was
hoping they would win this last Saturday and keep their lofty ranking (which
would have kept BYU out). Maybe they would have been looking past us a bit, and
it would have been an "easier" game with them. I still think we can
win, but we're going to have to bring our "A" game. GO AGGIES!!
WACpaddledThe Utes are lucky they don't schedule WAC teams very
often, because it's quite obvious, they're too good for U.
Spokane UteAs the announcers said, it may not be called much, but
the pass interference was a legitimate call. The most clueless part of your

@ VAGGie,Yeah right, keep telling your self that. Your Ags got the
win, but the officials had a majory say in what happened. The beauty of it is,
if we run the table, or even lose 1 or more 2 games, we can still play in a BCS
bowl. How does that work with the Aggies, or BYU? Just askin.......
@spokane and sports realist, talking about calls is pretty sad... It happens
every game... There are calls that go both ways... Like the unsportsmanlike
conduct that I could see from the 15th row the whole game... U of U players hit
players away from the play after the whistle a lot, but only Kruger was called
for his unsportsmanlike play... The refs did an incredible job, I was actually
@Spokane, he pushed off and McKade Brady sold it well, and I doubt he truly
flopped because that is a HUGE risk to take... Even K-Whitt didn't complain
about the call. You then had 2 plays to get it in the endzone, and didn't.
Our defense kept you to under 100 yards rushing... WAY more to you losing than 1
@spokane Ute yeah but you cant use the same excuses byu fans ALWAYS
use when they lose.. it's just not right and not fair. only they can use
the refs as an excuse EVERY TIME they lose. and yes that pass
interference call changed the whole outcome of the game cause they easily could
have called defensive pass interference the NEXT play as well. but its funny
watchin these byu fans act like they have already beat utah. hahahaha thats the
funniest thing to me.then you hae y fans telling u fans that they just "need
to be quiet for now" hahaha you're the last fan base to be talkin to
somebody about bein quiet, especially after that embarrassing loss last year in
A lot of folks eeem to be struggling with the truth. The pass interference call
at the end of the game, change the entire out come. It was a horrible call.

Didn't they schedule Utah State only to pad their schedule with an easy

Duckhunter,I actually agree with everything in your post from 7:53
am, except for the part about BYU being Utah's bowl game. How do you
figure when Utah has owned the Cougars in recent years, gone 9-1 in bowl games
in the last 10 years including 2 BCS bowl wins. Maybe BYU was Utah's bowl
game 15-20 years ago, but not now. Give credit to the Aggies, they
beat Utah on offense, defense, special teams and coaching. Kyle's teams
have a knack for coming out flat in 2-3 games every year. They were good enough
to overcome flat starts in 2008, but this team isn't that good.
Urban's teams never came out flat... he always had them ready to play. The PI call on Murphy was a good call. However, the USU defender did
interfere with Christopher on the final play. But that's how the game goes
sometimes. Utah recovered a fumble against BYU 2 years ago that was a poor call
which helped the Utes win 17-16. Tough luck Utes, now put it behind you and
play better next week. It will be a tight game... slight edge to BYU.

This was a defensive battle. And USU won because of great plays. Like the

This illustrates why Utahs' AD and Kyle are not willing to schedule
football teams like BYU or any other decent teams. If they play teams like
Northern Colorado they can win but if they lose to pac 10.2 team in there

Utah and teams like BYU have had respect around the football Country for their
willingness to play anyone. Those days are past for Utah now. it’s ironic
that Utah's complaint against BYU in the past was BYU has a big head and
they are arrogant. Now Utah is so arrogant that they either feel they are too
good to play BYU or BYU is too good of a team to play during their pac 10.2
schedule. So Utah is either to full of themselves to a degree that far ever
exceeds BYU's supposed arrogance (BYU never would have refused to play
their rival) or they are COWARDS!!!. I believe it’s a bit of both at Utah.
There is no disrespect in loosing if you give it your best effort but to refuse
to play is arrogance and cowardice at its highest form

BYU, has no room to talk usu beat u 2 years ago, u got lucky last year. this
year USU 35, BYU 23
Not to toot my own horn, but the previous comment was one I made 4 days ago on
the article titled "What We Learned from Week 1". I
don't know why there was so much hype around Utah this year. Their offense
was horrible last year and the only thing that changed this year was replacing
Norm Chow with a 25 year old offensive coordinator. So it
shouldn't be a surprise for their struggles out of the gate. Having said
that, I respect K Whitt and have no doubts that he'll be able to turn the
team around and get to a bowl game. However, I have predicted since
the beginning of the season that BYU beats Utah by 14+ this year, and I'm
sticking by that prediction. I think there is also a serious chance that Utah
goes 1-4 to start the season.I feel really bad about Jordan Wynn.
Hope he's ok, the poor guy can't catch a break! He's worked so
hard to rehab and get ready for the season. I wish him all the best.Aggies, great game, I'm nervous for October 5th.Go Cougars!
truecoug1Provo, UT2:57 p.m. Sept. 4, 2012I learned this
week that USU's better than what I thought, BYU's as good as I
thought, and Utah's about as average as I thought.Everyone
talks about Utah's defense holding UNC scoreless. Last year, an FCS team
(Sacramento St.) held UNC scoreless and to 72 yards (!) of offense. There were
also 5 FCS teams that scored more points on UNC than the 34 offensive points the
Utes were able to score against them.Jordan Wynn is an average QB.
His arm looks about the same as last year. The INT he threw was a horribly
thrown ball. The Utah O-Line also has some question marks. The Ute offense was
ranked 107th last year, and I didn't see anything to suggest that would
improve markedly this year.Utah's defensive line is fantastic!
Verdict is still out on LB's and secondary. All in all, not too
impressed by the Utes in the opener. I think USU will give them all they can
handle this week, if not beat the Utes. I will be surprised if the Ute offense
scores more than 21 points.
Best of luck to all Utah-based teams when playing out-of-state competition. I
hope Utah turns it around and does much better in the PAC 12 and at least equals
pre-season expectations. Hope BYU dominates its independent schedule and shoots
high up the rankings. Hope Utah State takes advantage of this start to go
undefeated in the WAC. Would be great to surprise folks regarding the quality
of football this year.Steve Sarkisian and Washington are here today
in my neck of the woods. The LSU Tigers could use a dose of humility that would
come from a closer than expected game. Sure, the SEC is probably still the
dominant league in the country, but it's not the only league.
A couple of things:First, that was a great game of football,
regardless of which team you were rooting for. Exciting is an understatement.
Best wishes to the Utes in the rest of your schedule. In all honesty, I hate to
see a classy guy like Wynn go down, but y'all are in a better position I
think with Hayes. BJ will learn, so don't give up on him. You lost a close
game to a team that we in Cache Valley knew was going to be good all along.Second, you BYU fans need to quit thumping your chests. This is OUR
win. Nobody else's. (By "our," I mean the boys in Aggie Blue on
the field.) BYU has not beaten anyone of any consequence yet, and believe me,
we are coming for you. The Aggies have been down for a lot of years, and have a
lot to prove. We will be out for blood.Lastly, congratulations to
the AGGIES of UTAH STATE! Excellent game plan, with a lot of heart and grit. I
will be voting Chuckie Keeton for President. I believe we have turned another
corner. I BELIEVE THAT WE WILL WIN!!!
From ESPN"It's devastating, because we lost to a team
that's not even in the Pac-12," said running back John White, held to
96 yards on 27 carries. "To lose to Utah State is horrible."Wow! This is clear evidence that some Utes truly have gained a superiority
complex. Great game Utah St. Out here in Connecticut my friends
were playing board games but I was glued to the TV. I'm looking forward to
a great game in a month.
Congrats to the Aggies! BYU better not be looking past them. As for the Utes,
tough luck on the penalty in the OT, but gotta hand it to the Aggies. Wish
I'd seen the game. Not on the air in SoCal.I hope BYU
won't be thinking that they'll roll Utah next week. 54-10 should keep
them focused. Oh, and lets not have an Appalachian State moment this week!
Anyone who watched the Aggies the last two years would not be surprised by this
win. Its a breakthrough win that carries weight but the Aggies who can play with
any team can also lose to any team. The fans need to pack Romney stadium and be
loud for the WAC teams as well as Utah. A great win that looked very good for
USU on ESPN.
I'm not sure if I should laugh out loud or cry. A Ute fan for sure and
disdain everything BYU past, present and future, but you have to hand it to the
Aggies. Somebody got out coached and didn't have his team mentally
prepared for this. Didn't they watch any of the Aggie games from last
year? They're a pretty good program. Tighten up your belts, this is going
to be an interesting game coming up next week.
O how the mighty Utes have fallen.Less than two weeks into the
season and already the Utes have been eliminated from WAC title contention. And,
of course, they never really had a chance of winning the PAC title. After last
night's dismal offensive performance, it's obvious, the Trojans will
destroy the Utes.USU 1-0 in the PAC 12BYU 1-0 in the PAC 12Utah 0-1 in the WAC
Good game USU. BYU fans need to worry. I know I am. Let's not get cocky. We
could beat both Utah and Utah State but we could lose to both of them too.
Let's take care of WSU today and then we can start looking to the Utes.
UteologyYou're equating a 2-1 with NEVER being willing to play
in Logan again?
Spokane Ute"The Aggies should be thrilled. The Refs gave them
the game on a silver platter. What a Homer Job!"Care for some
cheese to go along with that whine? They were PAC 12 refs!WHY would PAC 12 refs homer the Utes???
Spokane Ute has written several comments and they all say the same thing... By the way, even if offensive pass interference isn't called
much... The penalty was there... It was obvious... The aggie corner was on the
ground... And as Ute44 stated it happens on both sides of the ball... Quit
blaming the refs and accept that Utah was beaten... If Utah wants to win they
shouldn't even let themselves get in that position.
Spokane UteBitter much? The refs were your own. LOL
Some realityutah is not as good as utah "fans" have
proclaimed. usu is better than most people thought. The ref's did not
"homer" the ute's. The utah coaches have done an embarrassingly
poor job of recruiting at the qb position for several years and it is hurting
them badly, last year and this year. You can't just ignore the single most
important position on a football team and expect it to not hurt you.I still expect a very tight game at res next week, the utah team has a lot of
pride, they just lack talent at some very key positions. But playing BYU is a
bowl game for utah, despite the attempts to claim otherwise from utah
"fans". They get themselves sky high for that game so I expect them to
be wound up and ready to go. I just don't know if the major lack of talent
on offense is going to doom them once again.
Congrats to tha Aggies, they deserved the win, and on national tv to boot. Calm
down fellow BYU fans, both teams are still dangerous and it will be tough
playing in RES next week, lets not talk about blowouts until the teams actually
play ok? Congrats again to the Aggies, your team earned it. This definitely
wasn't Northern Colorado.
Every year BYU fans complain that Whittingham games plans for BYU all offseason.
Have to wonder if the Utes were looking past USU to the BYU game. Also, Utah is learning what BYU found out last year. First year offensive
coordinators have a learning curve to get through. Could be a rough year for
the Utes.Congrats Aggies, great win. Your team looks strong. Go
"I think one thing is very clear: the Aggies are back and the tri-rivalry in
football in this state is clearly renewed."Because USU barely
won in OT at home? Winning once in 15 years vs BYU and Utah does not mean this
is now a huge rivalry and it's returned. USU with its best team in years
couldn't even get more than 7 wins last year and didn't win the WAC,
which was the worst conference last year. Let's wait until USU consistently
beats these teams, then it's a rivalry.BYU is the most solid
team and senior led. Beating them on the road will be MUCH harder than Utah at
home. BYU looks incredible so far. USU won't beat BYU, but maybe next
Chris B is a big ute jinx! Mark it down. Utes not as good as Weber.
@SPOKANE UTE you guys always complain about byu always blaming the
refs, well you cant utah must played dirty football tonite say that utah got
homered ,they were using their own conference referees, utah just played
dirty football tonite, kruger got ejected for throwing a punch at chuckie
bdecause chuckie got past him poor sportsmanship is all it was.
I always love the comments people make about if we didn't have that punt
blocked, or if they didn't call that offensive pass interference we would
have won the game. You can pick a handful of plays in EVERY football game erase
them and get a different result. Unfortunately that is not how it works. We
played the game we played and lost. Deal with it. This was not luck or an
aberration. Utah State probably won the battle at the line of scrimmage on both
sides of the ball and they were in control of the game. Let's congratulate
them and move on. We've got plenty to worry about if we want to beat BYU
next week. Congrats USU you and Gary Andersen deserve it.
My prediction was pretty close "Aggies by 14+ at half and a battle in the
4th quarter". That was one of the most nerve racking games I
have ever attended. The Utes never ever had the lead but still they almost
stole it at the end.Aggies' Keeton is truly an amazing
sophomore qb and USU's D is for real.Night nite!!!
mussingaroundAfter all of the talk about Utah State not even being
worthy of being on the same field as the Utes, Utah fans should just keep
silent.--------------Correct me if I am wrong but
doesn't BYU have a 2-for-1 with USU?
So the Utes finally get a game on ESPN. How'd they do? Oh, about like
they did last year against Colorado in their last home game in SLC. Funny, just
because they beat a team from last year that was 0 - 11 during their initial
outing this year, throngs were singing their praises. Well, a little
disappointment for the big bad new PAC 10.2 member (#12 of 12) might bring them
back down to earth. But I doubt it-----they've just been nauseating in
gloating about belonging to the Conference of Champions. Pride goeth before the
So much for the Utes being too good to play the Aggies anymore.
The Aggies should be thrilled. The Refs gave them the game on a silver platter.
What a Homer Job!
I think there are several people missing the boat here on the comments. Clearly
USU is a MUCH better team than people were giving them credit for. They more or
less were able to entirely shut down the Ute offense the entire first half of
the game. The point is this, Utah is still a great team having just
come off a 40-0 win. No offense, but I think it might just be that the Aggies
are (yes) THAT good. Keeton is a a serious baller and that USU team is WELL
coached and HIGHLY athletic in pretty much every position. If I
were a Coug fan, I wouldn't be so hasty to assume that just because the U
lost a hard fought game in Logan means that next week will be easy for them. My
prediction is that we are going to have yet another close rivalry game next
week, and then again conference weekend.
Spokane Ute is right! There is a conspiracy. The big boys in the 12-PAC want a
cellar dweller, not a contender. If the yewts don't know their place, the
refs have instructions to put them there.
How cool would it be if USU beats Wisconsin next week and BYU can take care of
Utah and BSU (no offense weber or Hawaii fans) to have a top 25 battle royal
come 1st of October. I thought it might have been in SLC, but obviously that is
not going to happen, so we might as well have one in Provo! Poor Pac 2.10, USC
and Oregon well have hard time impressing anybody with the weak conference they
are in. SJSU almost beats stanford, USU beats Utah. We are talking the WAC with
Texas St. and UTSA as members. (Texas St. did crush Houston, I'll give them
props for that)Pac 2.10 already has slipped as a B-Ball power, now they are
slipping in FBS power. USC and Oregon might want to have what's left of the
WAC join the PAC 2.10 to add strength to the conference.
@Skywalker,They didn't get "dominated" by a better
team. They played poorly, and the refs hommered them in the end. Even the ESPN
comintator said; That call is rarely made. The refs made sure Utah St won that
game, don't kid your self. That's why I'm glad Utah won't
play in state teams in the future. You can't beat the team and the Refs.
Good game, Utes! This was arguably one of the best rivalry games I
have seen in this state in over a decade. Battle of the Brothers revived? I
think so.I think one thing is very clear: the Aggies are back and
the tri-rivalry in football in this state is clearly renewed. It will
be interesting to see next week's game between the U and the Y; and then
later the A versus the Y. It looks like the wagon wheel is going to
mean something again. Fun times. Go Aggies!

If Utah scores more than 14 against BYU next week, it will be a major let down
for the Cougs. Even if we win they game, it would be dissapointing to give up
that many points to them after what I saw from the utes offense. Like I said
earlier, even with Hayes in (Utah now has a better chance)I find it hard to see
Utah finding the end zone. BYU's offense wasn't much better in the 2nd
half against WSU, so it might be a 10-3 or 6-0 game next week. I am just saying
this so I don't seem to cocky or confident about the outcome next week.
Makes me a little more worried to play USU conference weekend, Chuckie might be

Defense will rock the house in Provo and I loved the guy that said Utah state
owned Utah. Look at the record. The Utes have decimated Utah State for years. I
just hope Coach A decides to spend a long time in Logan. He is doing a great
job. I predict they will go unbeaten this year now.Utah State by 17 in Provo.
What a great win for a great team. Anyone who has followed Utah State the past
two years knows its not that huge of a upset. Utah State can play with most
teams as they proved at Auburn. No wonder Utah and BYU are not wanting to play
the Aggies !
Congratulations to USU on the win. It makes me a little nervous about the game
coming up in a few weeks. I suppose I can be a little relieved that it will be
in Provo rather than Logan. As for next week, this loss may be bad
news for BYU. It could get Utah that much more fired up for the rivalry game,
not that they have ever needed the motivation. Let's just hope BYU
doesn't turn the ball over a million times like they did last season. Finally, I will say I'm not totally shocked about the loss. The
offense wasn't very impressive in beating a very weak FCS team. Yes, they
could have just been working out the kinks. However, I think this game shows
that the offensive worries are very real for Utah.I just hope they
don't get them figured out over the next week.
to sammygI like the Miracle analogy... :) Pretty awesome.
It's sad when a couple of poor calls effect the outcome of the game. The
Utes got hommered, but should never have gotten them selves in that position.
Brian Johnson called a horrible game. Every, and I mean every, time the freshman
QB comes in they run the ball. Hello! Can the kid throw? Do you want the drive
to stall. Whittingham and Johnson need to figure this out. The Defense is solid!
@uteologyutah "fans" have been the ones saying that utah
will blow out BYU for a good year now. I'm not sure what you saw tonight
that might have given you any reason to believe that is going to actually happen
but utah "fans" are not noted for their reality based thought
process.Let me tell you what just happened and it wasn't all
USU.Terrible o-line. I've been telling you guys this for
months. It's true. Face it.Terrible qb's. Once again
I've been telling you this for months. When jon hayes is your best qb you
truly have the worst qb situation in the nation. wr's that have
done absolutely nothing, "best in the pac12" was a joke when it was
claimed. The defense is good, that is all, they are good. They are
not "great". LB's are incredibly average. Once again
you've been told over and over.whittingham seems to have bought
into the embarrassing hero worship utah "fans" have heaped on him.
Great job and congratulations to our brothers up northYou have a special coach
in Gary Anderson and This game had me worried. for obvious reasons. I don't
see anyone on your schedule you can't beat. This could be your special
year. Good luck after a hard fought win. I've always liked your teams when
not playing Utah so, even though I have a hard time watching my team lose, at
least it's to a team and program that I have a lot of respect for. Now we
can both destroy BYU
You know, BYU fans, some of you are making this out to be an embarrassing loss
for Utah. But except for an absolute stoke of luck, USU would have 2 in a row
on BYU going into this year's game. It's possible that USU is that
good. Clearly they have figured out how to win in a tight spot unlike last
year. It could be a miserable conference weekend for BYU fans. These
aren't the doormat Aggies of old. And we have awesome new helmets to prove
Congratulations to the Aggies. They played very well and deserved to win.
"Props to Utah State. Still, they are not better than Utah."Here cometh the excuses...Come on gdog, you are better than that,
give the Aggies the honor and respect they deserve. Cut the crap and excuses and
be a good little Ute and let it go.Tonite the Aggies were the better
team. Congrats to USU. Well done!Reminds me of that moment before
the US played the USSR in the Olympics in 1980 when in the movie
"Miracle" Coach Herb Brooks says... "If we play 'em
10 times, they might win nine. But NOT this game."
No hate for the Utes. They simply were out played. The Aggies were fired up
and ready for this game. Chuckie Keeton is a baller. I hope BYU is
ready to face a ticked-off Utah Utes team next week. The cougars Defense should
prove to be the difference in the game.
overrated!**clap clap clap clap clap**overrated!**clap clap clap clap clap**
Other note for gdog... If you look at penalty yards... USU had more... They had
calls against them. And an overturned fumble... They recovered... Utah
didn't... Pretty sad to blame the refs in a great game like this... Utah
got lucky too... Dropped 2 kickoffs... USU nearly intercepted 2 balls in the
fourth quarter... And the refs called the fouls well... By the way... Murphy did
push off... So it is a flag...
BYU fans, you're jumping the gun a week early. Try beating us first,
remember the last time at RES Wynn played just 5 minutes of good football and we
still won.Aggies deserved the win, they are the better team and they
played like it. Great game plan by Anderson to run the option against our
defense. Excellent win USU!!
oh wait... hunger bowl game isn't where BYU is going.... I would welcome
the chance to go 2-0 against the Utes in one season! and that is simply the
truth! Never happened before.... It could this year and there is no doubt! Utes
don't need firing up to get ready for the Cougars.... They are that way
naturally... Just wonder if they will come in oh so cocky as their drone fans
all because of 54-10 that they suffer another 70-31 walloping! This time in
SLC... That would be oh so sweet!
gdog - Were you watching the same game I was? Utah's defense
was in a slant... There was nobody close until they finally caught up at the
one... All that can be said was that it was that Keeton was a great playmaker
in the game and this play... The refs did a great job even though I felt they
missed some late hits and unsportsmanlike conduct of the U. Everyone sees
things... For example Utah State fumble at the beginning of the 2nd half... From
my view there wasn't obvious evidence that he dropped the ball before
hitting the ground... That's why Im not the ref... Aggies just outplayed
Utah in a very sloppy game.
This game is going to be talked about for a long time, starting tonight. Get
used to it Utes, you really set yourselves up for this wave of abuse. A new
OC's inexperience, the wrong QB, 'undisciplined' players (yeah,
loved that ejection call), and so forth. Wow Utes, nothing
'stellar' exhibited tonight against a real football team, as many
cautioned, myself included. I'm all ears for the excuses.I just
love how this sets up the next few BYU games quite well. I believe BYU has a
good chance of sweeping the both of you, but if not that's ok, anything can
happen on any given night in rivalry football.Sorry about Wynn but
is anyone surprised here? Sorry kid, your O line, as predicted, didn't show
up. Time to reevaluate what's important in your life, the "fans"
are now going to abandon you.A very enjoyable game to watch and
finally the Aggies play one through to the end.Congrats to the
winning team, my daughter's alma mater and a Kleenex to the losing
'bitter and disappointed' fans! LOL
Ahhhh.....that showdown in the RES against the Trojans just took a hit! Hey
Utes....watch out next week, or you will get smacked again! Go
Props to Utah State. Still, they are not better than Utah. BYU looks like they
are better though. Utah rolled with Wynn and he's unfortunately not the
same player he was his freshman year. It's too bad for Wynn, but him
holding a starting spot on the team has set Utah back for the last two years.
Reps were needed elsewhere. Without the blocked punt TD, the
offensive pass interference on Murphy in overtime, and three USU fumbles being
recovered on their own blunders, Utah probably wins. The game takes shape from
these things but excuses are hypotheticals. But if 54-10 was a fluke, an
overtime loss where nothing goes your way is noteworthy. Don't forget USU
holding Utah time and time again (few calls). That was especially true on
Keaton's scramble to the one yard line in overtime, followed by Murphy
getting the call against him on Utah's TD called back. Key
play of the game, 9 and 1/2 minutes to go in the game (tied at 13), Williams
makes a 33 yard run with Kruger getting held. Sets up first and goal. Rowe
pulled a hamstring and Kruger got ejected.
Are we going to see a bunch of new posters with names like 27-20? Fans that
base their whole existence on winning one game? Also are we now
finally going to be removing some of the embarrassing Pac 12 logos that are
Ute fans should be happy with Hayes and Wilson in. Once Wynn got hurt, they
actually started moving the ball. Wynn's arm strength makes Riley look more
like Elway, which is pretty sad. I am more worried now about BYU losing with
Wynn out. Hayes and Wilson are better than he was. Still feeling pretty good
about next week though. EAT CROW all Ute fans. Losing to USU sucks doesn't
Glog?Seriously, the officials?Want some chees with your
First Colorado and now the chanting begins...Aggies own the U-utes,
Aggies own the U-utes...Another 7-5 season at best, maybe a Hunger
I am absolutely LOVIN' this.
Wynn wasn't knocked out, he was benched! At least if I understand the game
right.... But, again, I didn't see the AWESOME happen!
The news gets around a little slowly in Logan. Seems the USU players had not
heard about Utah going to the PAC. No one told them that Utah has a really
tough defensive line...maybe the best in the PAC. Of course the top QB
prospect in Utah never got the word on this either so he is going elsewhere. I
guess this is because Utah does not have its own TV network and must depend on
the PAC to get the word out. Congratulations to USU. When you come to Provo in
a few weeks you will have a chance to learn some things you might have been
Utah is probably better off without Wynn though. That stat line shows that they
were obviously better off tonight without him...
Once again a Chris B. prediction guarantees a USU win! Keep up the good work
To My Beloved Utes. It's gotta hurt. Maybe its a good idea you don't
schedule Utah State and BYU every year. To My Beloved Aggies, Great win! It was
well-deserved. Lots of Love! Lots of Love! This BYU Cougar Fan and
Dr. Hill is desperately trying to schedule a home-and-home with Savannah State
to replace Utah State and BYU.
Chris,I have no problem with Utah being the second best team in the
state. They just have to prove it on the field. Not
looking too good as it stands right now.Right now they have a losing
record against the WAC, while BYU has a winning record against the PAC.Utah needs to run and hide from the better in-state programs.Mark
that down, babe.Utah is probably the 6th best team in the state, and
the 4th best in Colorado...
Now about the game: It was definitely a battle... Too many dropped
balls though... The call on Murphy was correct... The refs actually did a very
good job tonight, I was impressed. The kept the game under control even though
there were players in each others faces... Props to both teams... Awesome game.
Proud of my Ags.
Nice job Utah State.Aggies desrevd the win and they got it.
Aggielove - I hate utah state, but I loved you tonight! Nice job! Lots of crow
being eaten in Salt Lake City and on the hill. They got what they deserve.Go Cougars!!
Utah deserved to be humbled tonight. I've been listening to Utah fans and
talk radio all week long talking as if Utah had already won the game. I could
hardly stomach the arrogance from the ute fans. Ever since they made the Pac 12,
ute fans have been acting is if they are better than every other team in the
state and every other team in the pac 12. The bottom line is that even the PAC
12 has cellar dwellers and just like last year, Utah will assume the same
position in the middle to bottom of the pack. I just wonder what the utes will
say after they get beat by the cougars next week. GO AGGIES!
First year O-coordinators are tough. Just ask Doman at BYU. Utah's
offense was pretty anemic all night and the defense wasn't what we thought
it would be. But I was extremely impressed with the Coaching from USU. The
Aggies played solidly to their strengths and away from Utah's strengths.
That game plan is what won it for them in the end. Well played USU.
I wish BYU fans would quit bashing teams in the USU, Utah game... You'll
get your shot at both teams in the next few weeks you'll get a shot at both
teams... Talk if you actually win. You aren't the best in the state as of
right now, until you prove it against Utah and USU. I personally think that
right now there are three evenly matched teams in Utah... BYU hasn't won
any state number 1 slot yet... Actually Utah State is the only team that has
beaten teams from Utah... Wait 4 weeks and we will see the USU vs BYU football
game... And don't overlook the Utes next week...
Gary Anderson did more with less, and outcoached Kyle. Utah had a poor showing
even if they would have won. Still, bad breaks and calls went against Utah.
Overall, I think the officials did a okay job, but Utah was getting blatantly
held a ton, with an obvious hold on Keaton's run to the one yard line in
overtime.Special teams is AGAIN a weakness at Utah. One could argue
the blocked punt cost Utah the game. Either way it was costly. Making a 52 yard
FG is a tall order, but can you say two ugly kicks attempted for the win. Also,
another field goal was skibbed through with an flubbed extra point made. It was costly for Utah that USU had three fumbles that they got lucky
bounces to cover their blunder. Utah forced Keaton to fumble and couldn't
recover. Then we had another forced fumble and fumbled punt that worked out in
the favor of USU.The call on Jake Murphy in overtime was a tough
call to make. That eliminated an extra point try for double overtime. Utah will struggle all year. White IV needs blocks (holes) with no Bergstrom
Sorry folks, but this year... Wait! I'm not sorry. The reality of life in
Utah in 2012 is that not one team from Logan to Cedar City will beat BYU on the
grid iron. There will be no seven turnovers. There is a qb controversy on the
north east bench of SLC and it is in provo that both the Wildcats and the Aggies
play 'us'. We will win those two games for sure. Tomorrow will prove
us 1-0 in state... 2-0 overall and then, we will come up there to SLC and kick
the Utes into the deepest depression they have been in since 2003. 0-2 against
Utah state teams will hurt like no fire ever scorching the Ute family. And... If
I am right about this Romney will win in November!
Chris BSalt Lake City, UTUtah 34usu 17I
respect Utah State and their coaches, but you are still a WAC team, 2 notched
below a 2 time BCS winner and Conference of Champion member.Don't be too sad, you're easily the 2nd best team in the state.Hey Chris! By my count, that would be "WAC Team" 27,
"Conference of Champions" Team 20.U must be so proud.
Hey, Chris B....haven't you learned anything from your Washington State-BYU
prediction from last week? Now you're somehow turned your BIG LOSS TO THE
WAC and new MWC member by the PAC 10.2 into some distorted view of BYU. Your
opinions are lousy, man, give up.
Sweet. Love the Aggies until they play the Cougs. Go BYU and USU until then.
Utah is the 3rd best in the state today. Byu is for real. And I hate byu.
First and foremost congrats to the Aggies. They came out with a game plan and
beat us on BOTH sides of the ball. The are the better team.As far
as Utah, that was absolutely embarrassing. Really, 49 yards in a half? Wynn was just horrible, when you get outplayed by a D2 QB you need to
quit. With Hays we're looking at a 8-4 season, assuming White is
healthy. So might as well let the Bulldog start.Lets hope we
come out with a better game plan against BYU else we'll be 1-2 by the time
PAC-12 play starts.
Good job Aggies. Utes obviously have issues: O-line, QB, play
WAC > PAC 12
Chris, as your therapist, stop. Just stop typing. Go to bed. It will be better
in the morning.
Pride goeth before the fall. Own this one Ute fans. You earned this humiliation
with your incessant chest thumping about being a BCS powerhouse that has left
their in-state rivals behind. Unfortunately, someone forgot to tell Whittingham
that when he decided to hire a 25 year old rookie to run his offense.
PAC 12 - Conference of Champions? Hardly.
AGGIES!!! Awesome game USU. Aggies actually won the line of scrimmage on both
sides of the ball most of the game. Very impressive.
Utah - how could you allow the lowly WAC to embarrass you??? So much for the
mighty BCS, conference of champions, and all the smack talk.
Did Utah State really just beat Utah? I'm speechless... Football in the
state of Utah is really getting shaken up. Let's hope Weber doesn't
pull anything similar on BYU tomorrow.
Get ready for the little children with their hah hah hah you guys lost posts. This game was not meant to be. I feel sorry for Jordan Wynn as he is a
good kid and solid citizen. Even before he went down, it was apparent his arm
still lacked the zip it had his freshman year. I's to bad, but I think Utah
should have started the year with Hays and given him the reps in fall camp. The things Utah could struggle all year with. An pathetic offensive
line. A first year offensive coordinator. Game planning for Hays. And now an
injured Eric Rowe at safety with Blechen out.As optimistic as many
were about this year, my fears were confirmed here tonight. The defense is
solid, but the offense has no punch. I look for a winning team, but it's
obvious their will be no PAC 12 title hopes. So losing to USU with BYU looking
to be tough has the season already a downer if Utah loses next week. Sure I will
show up and cheer and look for some big wins, but a mediocre bowl game is the
Is it really true? Can this be? The Mighty Pac-12ers just lost to a team from
the WAC?? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Chris Hill better drop USU from the schedule
quick! Time to play Savannah State!
Nice game Aggies...sweet new uniforms too!Once again, the Utes play
down to their competition, but I can hear Ute Fan now, "it's ok, at
least we can still play for the Rose Bowl!"Sorry Ute fan,
tonight's loss IS a big deal, and after tonight, there is no way you beat
enough Pac10 teams to even sniff the Rose Bowl. USC (and several other teams
will roll U this year...but I'm sure that you have several excuses
ready! If the Utes make it to the Rose Bowl, I will never post on a
Utah article again.I'll be posting on Utah articles for the
rest of my life!
WOW! Didn't see much of the game, shame that Wynn is out again and hope
the U has a better backup option than last year...looking like it'll be yet
another down and out year in the PAC-12.Good for USU, they're
working hard and really building something good up there.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha.Mark it down.
Finally we know why the Utes want to schedule more out of state games and forgo
the rivalry games with BYU and Utah St. Too much competition here. Anderson
completely outcoached Whit tonight and after next week these same Utes will be
no better than the 3rd best team in the state. I wonder if USC will blow past
60 pts when they visit?
I eat crow. Mad respect for Utah state. You and us will dominate byu.
USU was better at every position ON the field..... And had better team
speed.......can you say SCOREBOARD!!! I think the pac10 wants their
slot back........Oh well there is always BBall eh Utes.
Great job, Aggies! And Chrissy B was right for once. Utah State is
the second best team in the state. But will Chrissy keep a promise
and not post for the rest of the year after the Cougs take care of business next
It's been 12 long years of drought for Aggie fans. Let it rain!!!
I'm so happy right now.
Time for Chris Hill to resign. The PAC 12 holier-than-thou attitude
at the U has brought you down!No one in the state could stand you
recently acting like people you hated for years with your "now we're in
the big time and too good to play USU and BYU." Nice job Aggies!
Cougs are next!
I give credit aggies. Utah is second best in state this year.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!So much for the "best
defense in the country", the BCS, and the conference of champions. yoU
looked like WAC wannabees, or maybe one notch above East High.BYU
will eat your lunch next week, too. Mark it down.
Did anyone catch the play where Kruger got booted? ESPN2 didn't replay it.
Scott Hoculi went to the same refereeing school as his dad. How could they
make that call on Murphy at the end (for a pick?) when the ball wasn't even
in the air yet?
I didn't know if they had it in them! I've never been so glad to be
wrong! Go Aggies!
Like I said.We will win.Where is Wallbanger now?
Utah 0-1 in the WAC and BYU 1-0 in the PAC-12 enough said- go Aggies
Quoting our friend Chris b the season is over chasing that national title lol
Upset? Try absolute embarrassment. Complete garbage from start to finish. I
can't another long season of trying to scrape out victories. WHAT A JOKE!
Next time just don't show up and save us all the trouble. The
Aggies earned it. Good Luck going foward. DON'T FEED THE
TROLLS! JUST TAKE IT LIKE MEN!
