Hallelujah! Still think it is running pretty high -- 25% maybe -- in the midwest though.

People who are interested in health and taking care of their bodies would never consider sucking on a cancer stick. My sympathies to those who are addicted to nicotine and couldn't stop smoking if their lives depended on it. Pun intended.

Tobacco companies need to be shut down PERIOD! How in the world would someone even think about smoking? I enjoy breathing but evidently there are millions who don't. Smoking is sick and wrong in every sense of the word, but I too, feel bad for those that are addicted to nicotine. I have lost many family members from this senseless habit.

its hard to believe its going down when so many smoke shops are opening up everywhere.

I am curious as to how accurate this is...

Did it include other forms of smoking such as cigar and pipe use? Also, did they ask "Are you a smoker?" or "Do you smoke?". I know many people who are casual or social smokers. Despite what people might tell you, its easy for many people to go a while without having a smoke.

Smoking isn't a binary decision; it isn't everyday or never.

Also, many young people have found other ways to use nicotine, such Snus, vaping (e-cigarettes), and, my personal preference, nicotine gum. I still enjoy the occasionally cigarette, cigar, or pipe though. Sometimes you just can't simulate the taste of high quality tobacco...

The only way these smoke shops stay in business is by selling marijuana, bath salts, and drug paraphernalia under the table. The tobacco portion of the business is just a cover for the "real" business.

What smokers don't realize is that their habit causes bad breath, stains their teeth, and reduces their ability to taste foods. Cigarettes are to adults what a binkie is to a 4-year old child.
