Although it is one of the safer bets that you can exchange a degree for a good
job, the benefits of higher education rarely talked about are good reasons to
pursue a degree. There are many experiences that can offer these benefits, not
just a college education, but a college education is pretty good at expanding a
student's personal philosophies and creativity. It also widens a
student's network of relationships, teaches them how to live on their own,
and in some cases lights a fire in students that becomes their life long pursuit
in a particular field.
Unemployment doesn't seem to be a problem for people moving in from the
Phillipines, China, and India.No child left behind, standardized
testing, high funding, and accountability, just isn't cutting it.
