The guys on the video sounded like they were on a telethon.
"Call your cable, satellite or telco provider and demand (aka beg) that they carry the Pac 12 Network."
Call now, operators are standing by!
That was funny stuff.
Well now there's a couple of BYU fans who are completely obsessed with the Utes. Thanks for caring enough to keep checking in guys.
Just checked out the PAC 12 channel - - totally unimpressed with the overall broadcast quality and the TV personalities are a cross between the old "Mtn" broadcast and Rosanne Barr singing the national anthem. Pathetic that is all I can say. Not sure how the network will come up with quality announcers / color analysts etc. in 2 weeks. Looks like a re-birth of "The Mnt." channel which lacked professionalism in every way.
If the quality of the broadcast on Aug. 30 isn't a big improvement over the piece aired tonight (PAC 12 Women's soccer) then "the launch" should be renamed "fizzle".
Looks like some posters want instant gratification.
The Pac 12 Network just started.

It is no different when BYU loses a game. Every excuse in the book is used. Its fun watching them freak out here!
So far the PAC Net is more hype than substance; an infomercial pleading with PAC fans to do what the conference couldn't, convince the satelite companies to carry their network - welcome to the MTN 2.0!

Was it an old Monty Python sketch...
"The beatings will continue until morale improves."
U guys that gloated over this network definitely deserved this.
The Pac 12 Network is quickly becoming the USC, Oregon and Stanford prime time on Fox and ESPN network and the 'you little guys get the leftovers network'.
I think you should organize a protest and... follow BYU, the college in Utah with a real sports network found anywhere in the world.
Love it! The comments by the Y fans. I don't know about the PAC-12 broadcasst. I can't get it yet as a Direct subscriber (This will be corrected before the Arizona State game - one way or the other.) What I love is the projected millions of dollars (up to $10M/yr).
Love it! All of the chest-beating from Utah fans based on nothing but speculation of what is "projected" to happen.
Call us when the PAC Net is actually available nationwide and you have that first $10 million check in hand.
When Hill that crackbox-sized of a stadium is actuallyt expanded to big-boy size and the U stops gouging it's students with increased "athletic fees" and Utah's athletic program actually finishes in the black, then, and only then, will we believe that the Utes are "rolling in the dough".
Until then, it's nothing but a bunch of hot air blowing off the hill.
Do you Y fans realize how ridiculous you sound? It doesn't get much more pathetic than jumping on an article about the U and bashing the very beginning of a new network.
Have fun with it if you'd like but there's not a thing any cougar fan can say that can detract from what is the beginning of something awesome for Ute/Pac-12 fans.
No one with a brain expected that the network would have every kink worked out right away. But for those who think it won't get better and better from here, you're simply living under a rock.
Your jealousy is far too obvious cougies. All your comments do is make Ute fans laugh that much louder. Pathetic.
@motorbike
You aren't laughing, you're offended and indignant.
But for the sake of proving you are not a hypocrite I would like to see you post that same outraged rant next time some utah "fans" malign BYU's ESPN deal and BYUtv. You see those are unquestionably superior to the pac12 deal at this point in time and BYUtv will probably always be superior to the pac12 network in distirbution and availability.
And of course we all know you have read many, many, time the utah "fans" on here maligining it. You just don't get your feelings hurt over that.
Duckhunter
Couldn't agree more.
The "selected outrage" of a few Utah fans caused by a few BYU fans daring to criticize the PAC 12 sacred cow is laughable.
Enter the wayback machine and compare the endless parade of Utah fans maligning BYU's contract with ESPN and BYUtv almost daily since BYU announced its television plans with both networks over two years ago.
The false "indignation" of the kids on the hill is laughable.
This really stinks. I think they will get it worked out before next season, but what about now? As a fan, it is good to make money off of the network, but I don't really care. I just want to be able to see the games. Heck, even last year I could see most of the games on KJZZ. Any chance they will do that again if they don't come to an agreement with satellite?

"Any chance they will do that again if they don't come to an agreement with satellite?"
None whatsoever. The PAC 12 now owns the broadcast rights to all PAC 12 conference games.

Why do you continue to carry on the fantasy that everyone knows about and has access to BYU TV? Just because someone paid for a package with that network does not mean they are watching it or glued to it like you are here.
WACPaddled
You obviously don't understand the difference between having access and actually watching a game.
BYUtv is available in 65 million homes TODAY, including availability on DirectTV and Dish networks.
The PAC Net isn't.
It's infinitely more likely that a fan who has access to BYUtv will tune in to watch a BYU game than a fan who doesn't have access to the PAC Net will tune in to watch a Utah game.
What's even more depressing, if you're a Utah fan, is most of BYU's game will be on ESPN, while most of Utah's games will be on the PAC Net.
That's just the way it is.
WACpaddled
I'm not sure why you're even making a fuss about BYUtv and the PAC Net.
Checking the schedules:
Wash St at BYU - ESPN
Weber St at BYU - BYUtv
BYU at Utah - ESPN2
BYU at Boise St - ESPN
Hawaii at BYU - ESPN
Utah St at BYU - ESPN
Ore St at BYU - TBA
BYU at Notre Dame - NBC
Georgia Tech, San Jose St, Idaho and NM St still TBA
------------
No Colo at Utah - PAC Net
Utah at Utah St - ESPN2
BYU at Utah - ESPN2
Utah at ASU - TBA
USC at Utah - ESPN
UCLA, Ore St, Cal, Wash, and Ariz still TBA
Utah at Colo - FOX or FX
------------
SIX of BYU's 12 games are already scheduled for national broadcasts on ESPN or NBC
Only THREE of Utah's games are scheduled for ESPN, TWO of those courtesy of your in-state rivals
As CordonBleu already mentioned, most of BYU's games are already destined for national networks; most of Utah's games are destined for the far from national PAC Net.
@waccy
Uh....I never said that. I said it's available on most systems and of course BYU fans, and the fans of the teams they are playing, will be watching it. I don't care if Trent from Mobile or Max from El Paso are watching it if they are not fans, if they are then they can both tune in, and will.
If Max and Trent are utah "fans" and the game is on the pac 12 network, well max and trent are screwed, and probably always will be. Kinda sad but funny all at the same time.
So let me get this straight. The PAC12 network is in 48 million homes at launch. The Big Ten network was in 17 million homes at launch, and the mtn. was in about 2 million homes at launch (if that). So tell me again how this is just the mtn 2.0?
