After I retired, my wife and I expanded our garden and added some chickens and a pair of milk goats to our backyard. It has been great. It is therapeutic to work closely with plants and animals. Our neighbors really appreciate excess eggs and milk. I worried about having to milk the goats every morning and night but there are several people around who are more than happy to milk the goats in order to have the milk. One thing we have learned: one zucchini plant will feed about five families!
