I would like to know how much each of these former presidents is being paid to speak.

Not that I'm against such payments.

    But, it would be illuminating.

Some people just can't get past ideological differences or the wedge issues that they use as a means to judge everything around them. The fact that nobody is perfect, and that even those with whom we disagree have great worth (even Pres. Obama, who has been frequently demonized by DN Subscriber and others in comment threads here, said of Paul Ryan, "He is a decent man, he is a family man, he is an articulate spokesman"), are lost on them.

Personally, I would be honored to be able to spend a couple of hours with Presidents Bill Clinton *or* George W. Bush (or any other President from the last 50 years, if it were possible). It would be fascinating to be able to get to know them better on a personal level and to get a better understanding of thought processes and vision, regardless of whether I agreed with them ideologically or not (while I wouldn't completely agree with any of them, I am equally sure that I would share at least *some* common ground with all of them).

I am proud to welcome President Bush to Utah.

And, to remind Bill Clinton that he finished third in this state.
