TrueBlue has just pointed out that even with all those awards collecting dust in a display case. BYU still has not received a conference invite in the past 40+ years!
Thank you for bringing that to our attention.
@waccy
Actually BYU has including one earlier this year to the big east. But many of us don't care, I personally like independence and just looking at next years schedule is a good indication of why.
But of course a BYU fans reality is different than a utah "fans" like yourself. Our reality is that BYU doesn't need a conference, they can thrive based on thier own merits, name brand, fanbase, and excellently run athletic department which runs in the black.
utah on the otherhand must have better schools to prop it up. It cannot survive on its own merits, as it has very few, it runs an athletic department deficit and has to be subsidized, it is only capable of having one of its athletic programs be successful at a time as its resources can't support more than one, its "fan"base is miniscule and a bit of an embarrassment. It simply cannot survive at all without the cover provided to it by much great universities than itself. Very similar to your welfare check delivered to your trailerpark each week, so you relate to it perfectly.

IF, being invited to a particular conference had ANYTHING to do with actual athletic achievement, BYU fans might be slightly concerned with the lack of a big name conference invite.
Since the lack of an invite from the PAC 12 and Big 12 has absolutely NOTHING to do with the excellence of BYU's football, basketball, and other outstanding athletic programs, BYU fans couldn't care less about your frantic attempts to prop up that bottom dwelling program on the hill with irrelevant comparisons of conference status.
Relish your last and next to last finishes in the PAC - nobody else cares.
Ponder this byu fans; What would your alleged legacy program be sans Lavell era?
The only significant detail about the 2011 college football season - 'Bama is the defending champ. Everything else is just filler & speculation
Nothing illustrates the perception the cougar football program has "jumped the shark" as well as when the cougar fans and the troll patrol have to resort to bringing up their "legacy" program to prove their relevency in the current environment.
Just keep beating that tired drum.... we believe you, we really do.
@ Proud Ute.
Agreed. **IF** BYU is a legacy program then what does that make USC, OU, Texas, Nebraska, Bama, Notre Dame, etc...
If you have to keep reminding people it's so, it's probably not.
