Government at every level can come up with all sorts of wonderful, feel good, nice to have projects to justify tax increases. Almost all are sold as "temporary" measures for one specific purpose. But, almost all remain forever.

Government at all levels must learn to live within their means, not constantly burden taxpayers with ever higher taxes.

So, despite the inevitable responses that we "need"more parks, and must prevent dirty air and water, and fuzzy puppies from dying, and house and feed the sick, lame and lazy, etc, the correct answer is to review every single function that government do, and eliminate less critical functions if you want to fund a new one.

That's what taxpayers have to do when confronted with government demands for more tax dollars.

More "tax and spend" by local government wanting whatever you have left after the federal government has picked your pockets. Vote NO!!

I would GLADLY vote for the bond if S.L. County would guarantee me (in writing)that they wouldn't raise my taxes (or fees) for at least 10 yrs, or half the life of the bond.

They won't!

Salt Lake County has been talking about a park on the ATK land in Magna for the past thirty plus years and it has yet to be built. Money was supposed to have been approved for the park that long ago too but still no park. Other parts of non incorporated SL County have seen amazing recreation projects built that exclude people who do not reside in the local tax district.

The Unified Fire Department and the Unified Police Department are in part the brain child of Michael Jensen who is also the Chief of the UFD. I'm happy to read he opposed the 100 plus million dollar recommendation of Peter Corroon but in this economy to take even one penny for non essential services is nonsense.

The UFD just built a beautiful fire station at the entrance to Michael Jensen's exclusive home which in my estimation is way over the top in cost with copper roofing of all things. I don't trust elected officials to be good stewards of my money.

I say NO to the 47 million dollar 20 year saddle of debt. Not now especially.

Vote for it. Have them tax you for the project. And then see if they ever take the tax off after the project is done. Vote for it and be taxed forever.

Hmm, tax increase, utah power price going up 5.8% by October and UTA still dropping more routes. Sorry, I will say NO!

It is not the responsibility of government to keep us entertained...vote no.
