Got to love those Band of Bungler shirts. The team does follow Bronco's advice on those t-shirts . They Bungle every game against good teams. Costco tennis shoes, costco khakis, and a shirt provided by the school with the Nike logo on it that cost 5 bucks at Deseret Industires.
If he runs a program with the right focus and he is successful - does it really matter how he dresses? Show up in flip flops, tee shirt, and shorts (knee length) for all I care.

Doesn't surprise me at all!
Watching Bronco on the sidelines wearing his "Band of Little Brothers" t-shirt. It looked as though he just got out of the gym. LOL
Does anyone really care what these people think or their rating? I will be happy to see how BYU ranks on the field this year... that is the only ranking I will care about.
Chip Kelly and Brady Hoke both make the list too. Apparently it doesn't correlate with success on the field, so who really cares?
As a BYU alumni living out of state, I hate how Mendenhall dressed last year. I hope he starts wearing the coaches khakis and polo shirts and start looking the part.
At least he got a number 1 ranking in something.
I like the independent attitude.
It could be worse. He could put on some new threads and say he looks "like a PAC 12" coach. He has players "like PAC 12" players and his recruits are "Like PAC 12" recruits.
Well any defense of this is equally as silly as somebody caring about somebody's appearance and wasting their time passing it off as news.
Reality TV is another waste of time. However if they had a 'Big Brother PAC Football, Livin' Off Season - Utah' reality show that would have been really entertaining to its finale last week.
Nothing like watching a few kids 'relaxing' for attention and making it news worthy!
Bronco, we love you, but you really have to dress better. You represent BYU, and by extension, the LDS Church.
And in other news, Utah came in 10th on Sports Illustrated's "Worst College Football Uniforms" list.
Guess we just don't know how to dress here in the state of Utah :)
Go Cougars!

The difference between that Sports Illustrated poll and this article is that this one isn't 6-yrs old. Our uniforms sure looked good while Utah was trouncing your irrelevant Indy-WACers last Sept. They didn't seem to get any dirt on them.
I like the band of brothers shirt. It looks like something a tough football coach would wear. If people get upset that he's not wearing a polo then BYU should make a band of brothers polo shirt. Maybe that would defeat the purpose.
@NavalVet
The SI poll was done in 2008 and, seeing as how Utah hasn't done anything different, I think we can safely assume that SI's poll still holds true.
As for the 'trouncing', I've re-watched that game a couple of times and I'm SO stoked for this year. I see no reason why BYU doesn't win by 14+.
Your secondary is not that good. They couldn't stop Cody, and ff Jake Heaps' 16 games as a starter/co-starter, he broke the 300 yd barrier once...last year against Utah.
You're replacing two LB's who were decent, but not great. Your d-line is fantastic, so it will be interesting to see if our leaner O-line, Iona Pritchard, and Riley Nelson can make a difference in the run game.
Biggest point for me is that I think it's a safe bet that we won't just give you the ball 4 times like we did last time. The unforced TO's by BYU, plus the forced fumble on Riley at the end of the game led to 35 of Utah's 54 points last year.

Finally, the two long drives where the U actually did score on our defense were both aided by PI calls on the defense on 3rd down. Our D had held John White to 20 yds rushing through the 3rd QTR and BYU actually had more total yards than Utah with a couple minutes to go in the 3rd.
As U like to point out, our D quit in the 4th, which allowed John White to break free and the Utes to completely blow the game open. Our O was completely inept last year with Heaps at the helm, scoring 3 TD's through the first 3 games.
So yeah, U got the trouncing last year and U've got scoreboard. But I'm totally stoked for this year when BYU wipes the U and their horrible uniforms all over RES.
Should be fun :)

It's amazing how someone can spin losing 54-10 to make it look like they played better.
UtahUte16
No more amazing than thinking Utah was 44 pts better than BYU. At one point in the 1st or 2nd quarter, BYU had 200 yds offense to Utah's 25 and Utah was ahead. A win is a win, but BYU kicked them around pretty good in the 1st half, they just couldn't hold on to the ball. When BYU came out in the 2nd half and continued giving it up, the defense did give up. When you lose confidence in your teammates it's over.
@UtahUte16
How is that spin? U fans only remember the final score. Why don't U try watching the game again?
The ONLY thing on your team that concerns me is your D-line. John White had 12 yds rushing halfway through the 3rd quarter, and even just 50 yds through 3 full quarters. Jordan Wynn played arguably his best game of the season against BYU and still only passed for about 240 yds (and that's with 5 more possessions than BYU).
Barnbug1 said it best. Our D gave up in the 2nd half when our offense kept turning it over. I don't see that happening again this year and, because of that, I see BYU winning by 14+.
Go Cougars!
This is a Ute conspiracy. There needs to be a NCAA investigation.

-----------
I'll give you one:
BYU hasn't beat Utah by 7+ since 1996 and that team had talent that the NFL wanted.
