RE: We hope the grandkids will begin their testimonies by saying, “I know Christ lives,” or, "I know the gospel is true,” rather than, “I know the church is true?

Good, The true church is made up individuals ,not four walls, membership into the true church comes by being receiving Jesus as your personal Savior (Born again/from above). Any church organization that claims to be the only true church is only proving to a person who knows the scriptures that they are actually a false church. No church organization has authority or power to save for that come only through Jesus and him alone.

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.(Acts 4:12)

(Jesus) for if ye believe not that “I am” he, ye shall die in your sins.(John 8:24)

Mightymite,
So what is it specifically that annoys you about the Eyres? I'm curious because perhaps your annoyance is someone else's inspiration. And what exactly is a yahoo?

A "yahoo," is "a boorish, crass, or stupid person" The Eyres are reasonably cultivated, well educated and smart. A few people may find those traits irritating. But the scatology of invective blows back upon us all. Sort of like a service project at a pig farm.

Speaking of farms: Boor comes from "boer," and "bauer" the Dutch and German words for farmer. The "Boer Wars" occurred between 1880 and 1901 between England and Dutch settlers in South Africa.

My Dutch mother used to call me "boor" from time to time. But I digress...
