Just another slap in the face with "hope and change". Maybe if barack would have his campaign buses, paid for by US taxdollars and made in Canada. Or if he and michelle would spend their money in this country rather than every other country in the world.

Better yet, if we were to wake up in a short time and realize that this was just a bad dream and everything was fine with President Mitt Romney running the show.

If not then we can make it a reality in November 2012.

If barack wants to blame conservatives and republicans for all of his problems. Then lets make a deal. We can divide the country. Democrats and liberals and illegals to one part, Republicans and Conservatives and people legally entering to the other part. Let them practice and exercise their ideology to their hearts delight. One part will be tax, borrow and spend. The other side will have a military, low taxes, and capitalism. One side will be diverse with spanish and the other side will be unified with one language (English). One side will be full of self serving movie stars. The other side will be entrepeneurs and hard working families. One side will live the dream of public education, the other side will have competition among teachers. One side will subsidize their people to stay, the other side will have tax payers.

Which ever side collapses first, the other side will get to rule the nation, by being the ones allowed to vote.

Canada has also created more jobs for American citizens then we have.

Canada allows oil drilling and other energy products (tar sands for example). They harvest their forests. If we were allowed to do the same, million of jobs would be created. Currently we pay out over 1 trillion dollars a year to foreign countries for their oil. We are fools.

Imagine that,

Yet another SOCIALIST country doing better than the good 'ol U.S. of A.

I don't suppose it has anything to do or in spite of;

The using the metric system,
Stronger Unions,
Uniserval Healthcare,
Liberal immigration policies,
legalized marijuana,
Nationalizing their oil industry,
Not being tangled up and spending $Trillion fighting foreign wars for Foreign oil,
and
an economy with a much better redistribution of that Wealth?

LDS Liberal,

We've been down graded below the Canadian level as the cancer of socialism spreads. Canada was smart enough to avoid Obama like spending. If you like comparisons, use Cuba,or North Korea. You need to open your eyes.

Compare Canada's government spending as a percentage of GDP to ours. Theirs is significantly higher.

Compare Canada's taxes as a share of GDP compared to ours, theirs is significantly higher.

The biggest reason for the change is that Canada strictly regulates their banking system, the way we used to. Therefore they had no financial crisis.

All of you people ranting about Obama and socialism apparently are unaware of these facts.

Roland,
there were more banking regulations during the bush years than there were during the clinton years.

It was not the regulations or lack thereof, it was the nature of the regulations and it was the unnatural stimulus in the housing market by barney frank and bill clinton requiring fannie and freddie to eliminate lending standards. Take away the outside stimuli and the housing market would not have bubbled and collapsed, taking our economy with it.

Of course, BO has exacerbated the problem with his profligate spending - (on Chinese solar panels and Finnish autos).

A proposal was put to Arthur Levin (SEC head) and Larry Summers (slick's treasury secretary) in 1997 to regulate derivatives - they said NO. Levin has since apologized.

There was a repub proposal in the senate in 2005 to better regulate fannie and freddie - EVERY dem opposed it.

Fannie and freddie stopped buying nontraditional mortgages in August 2007, and that is when the subprime crisis hit, which spread to the rest of the housing market. All because barney had no clue (he still does not).

What did the dems give us? dudd-frank, which further stiffles business lending.

Agreed.

I don’t recall Canadians being allowed to borrow 125% of the fictitious values of their homes.
I don’t recall any 25 year old 1st time Canadian home buyers being allowed to purchase a 5,000 sq ft starter houses.
I don’t recall any Canadians be allowed to buy jetskis, boats, Cadillac Escalades, and trips to DisneyWorld as part of their home mortgages.

Canada REGULATES and has stricter Government over-sight as to who can borrowed what, when, where, why and how.

Americans went on a buying spree with pretend money banks didn’t have.

Lesson Learned;
Self-policing, Self-Regulating, Self-Correcting Free Markets is a big fat lie.

Your thinking and reasoning is flawed and foolish to say the least. The Government regulations forced banks to lend to people who were high risk and it is those exact regulations and big government oversight that you are so highly praising, that led to many banks no getting money back and the housing market crashing. Capitalism is by far the most effective structure of economy we have in this world and I'm here to defend it. I will stand by the Constitution of the United States and support smaller governments with less regulations.

Obama is going to change all that after he redistributes the wealth in this country.

You are correct, NONE of those were good things - all were brought about by Barney Frank and Bill Clinton requiring fannie and freddie to eliminate lending standards to make housing more affordable.

1. Nobody FORCED anyone take out a loan and spend it on garbage.
2. Capitalism with closely watched REGULATION is the most efficient economy.
3. NOWHERE in the U.S. Constitution does it say anything about Capitalism.
4. Are the Chinese Communists or Capitalists? Capitalists on WallStreet [including Mitt] sold us out to them. They OWN us now.
5. I’m a Veteran, I’ve sworn THE oath to defend that Constitution and have put my life on the line defending it – Capitalism, Smaller Government and Less regulation never was, has been or will be part of it….no matter what Rush Limbaugh tells you.
6. Capitalist Businessmen sold us out to the Communist Chinese – THAT’S why I fight the WallStreet 1%. THEY are America’s real enemy.
