I adore the TruthMachine. He affords us all some great laughs. BYu is in such trouble, there isn't an adjective to describe it. KWhit played ball for BYu, and even he knows what the score is. There is a ton of "truth" in that claim! BYu is last century's aberration, not a decent program in the 21st century. Hey, it happens........Army has 3 NCs and 3 Heismans.........who will pick them up in the 4 major conferences........no one! Enjoy, if you can afford a ticket to a U football game which are ALL sold out.

BYu is "Rudy" university in the 21st century. Other than Kyle Van Noy, there isn't one kid from BYu that would start for Utah. And, that Nelson QB debacle is the most ridiculous QB to ever play for BYu.

Sadly for U, being IN the big time, and actually BEING big time are two entirely different things.

NOBODY is impressed with a bottom-feeder living off reflected light.

@Truth Machine
GUARANTEED, the first season that the Utes don't schedule BYU, the Utes will schedule a couple of cupcakes that aren't even ranked in the Top 120.

----------

The non-rivalry first season will be next year.

FYI...

Utah 2013 Schedule:
Home games: Arizona State, Colorado, Oregon State, UCLA, Washington, Utah State
Road games: Arizona, Oregon, Stanford, USC

That means we have 2 games open.

Yes, we might schedule cupcakes like...

A) Chattanooga Mocs just like Alabama

B) Furman Paladins or Georgia Southern Eagles just like LSU

The difference Alabama plays ZERO and LSU ONE possible top 10 team on the road while Utah plays THREE.

I agree with Kyle, "Our program is bigger than the rivalry."

Truth Machine:

"The logic is there, we simply don't have the designated cupcakes that Utah will be playing instead of BYU..."

The TRUTH here is that Bronco has scheduled more 1-AA/FCS opponents than Whittingham. Conversely Whittingham has played more BCS teams than Bronco [and with a higher winning percentage]. And of course, it's the Indy-WACey team that has been credited with having the easier schedule than the Pac-12 Utes -- both last season AND this upcoming season. So don't come here talking about cupcakes, okay? Your SOS is sooooo weak!

Have fun down there in the WAC's final season of -- for lack of a better word -- "competition".

Mid-majors forever!

Truth Machine:

"The Utes are simply running away from their instate rivals because they're afraid of losing to them...Painful as it may be for Utah fans to swallow, that's the truth."

It seems pretty clear to me, that by refusing to accept a 2-for-1 at RES, it is Holmoe and Mendenhall who are running away from the rivalry. Painful as it may be for Indy-WACey fans, but the truth is, we've beaten you 7 of the last 10 times. Your .300 record against us really isn't that intimidating. At least not for US anyway. I can understand why you guys would flee the rivalry.

Time for you guys to change your school colors again...from Aggie Blue and White, to Green with envy, with an nice Yellow streak piping from the tops of your helmets, running all the way down the backs of your jerseys.

phoenix:

"...the truth is Utah isn't a program that any D-1 program would even consider scheduling a 2 for 1 with."

Well, maybe not ANY D-1 program. Michigan sure didn't. They required a Home-&-Home with Utah. However, I'm not convinced the Indy-WACers are at the same level as the 2012 Sugar Bowl champions, so I don't see why we should be affording them the same consideration.

Nope...Utah is going to need a 2-for-1 with Bronco's boys, or they're just gonna have to go and schedule Weber State again instead.

3grandslams:

"Maybe USC should stop playing Notre Dame too."

Well, if Notre Dame goes and joins the WAC your cougies did....maybe they SHOULD!

@ "Truth Machine" and sammy

Hahaha! There is just NOTHING more adorable than BYU fans calling another football team "chicken" because of their strength of schedule. Really, you guys are the best.

Ok, you all have made some valid points along with some ridiculous points.
In the end, "Our program is bigger than the rivalry" will drive Utah to
stop this so-called rivalry with mid-major BYU.
