Utah has a habit of recruiting kids and then cutting them loose. If this keeps happening, then no one will want to play for Utah no matter who their coach is.

I would say the words of players who either left the team or were asked to leave the team would be the very best source for new recruits to consider. Last season, when coach K told his former players to talk to new recruits; to tell them everything as "we have nothing to hide" tells me the kind of program he runs. The results appears encouraging and positive! That's the kind of man (program) I would encourage my sons to play for.

Yes, the rest of the state should run and hide!

It is going to be a LONG time before Utah recovers from the mess that has been created there. Winning 6 games a years is going to cause the 350 ute basketball fans to be in an uproar next year. They will be calling for Coach Kristi's head in a year or two just like they did with the last two coaches.

Hopefully the football team can have a decent season or Utah "fans" will be jumping off the pac-12 bandwagon faster than you can find utah apparel at your local D.I.

No we won't---there are no bigger front runners in this country than a byu fan. I can remember the Marriot Center back when byu was bad, gold bleachers were all you could see. So enough with that it's getting way old anyway our 350 BB fans were a lot better than your 347 back when you were 1-25.

Joe and Ben- You are so funny. Har Har Har.... Have you nothing better to do than kick at a team when they're down? What does that say about you?

I am very happy with the progress this team is making. Coach K and his staff are building things the right way and these young athletes can judge that for themselves when they meet with them.

Way to go coach K! I think he is doing a good job of rebuilding the Utes basketball program.

There is no quick fix to have crazy expectations for this type of situation, but it seems to me that coach K is building it up for long term success. The fact that he is recruiting in state and getting a few top prospects is a good sign.

Here's to continued improvement and success with landing some of these guys.

Go Utes!

Well, BYU only has so many scholarships, so I guess the players who don't make the cut there can go to the U. Kind of like all the other U students who didn't have the grades or test scores to get into BYU.

Buzzards- Thankfully kids who grow up in trailers can go to the U as well, since they're not allowed at byu. You gotta love the stereotypes of the holier than thou crowd.

My wife had a scholarship offer from the y, but chose the U. My kids will have the grades and scores for the y, but I will do what I can to steer them to the U or USU.

It's a good thing that he is recruiting well within the state. Nobody out side of this state is going to want to come in just to play Sister Mary of the Poor School of Cosmetology, night in and night out. And, how much are those season tickets?

Maybe the Utes should consider signing up Betos as a sponsor.

They could give a free ticket with each burrito purchase with this new schedule.

Coach K seems OK to me, but I still miss the fat man. Majerus was a basketball guru! Goooooooo Utes!

Good to see Utah recruiting some outstanding Utah kids. I know Nixon's Father was a great Cougar player. I hoped BYU would offer Nixon too!

Nixon is a bit slow. He is a 4 or 5 but tries to play a 3. He is young so he could improve. Vandyke is a 2 star recruit. Miller is a marginal D1 player. Loveridge is the real deal. A mixed bag for sure.

The article states Coach K is pursueing some local talent...does this mean they automaticly sign with him...NO.

Coach K could have 500 offers out there, but that does not mean kids are breaking the doors down to play at the U.

Forget the articles on who he is after...lets hear who he gets...and more importantly, who he keeps...odds are the two good commits he currently has will not stay 4 years, but will go on to greener pastures.

"...there are no bigger front runners in this country than a BYU fan."

Typically clueless Utah fan response.

Utah basketball attendance has been in steady decline since Utah's finals appearance and the Ute's first PAC 12 season was lower than in BYU's worst season ever.

Magna Ute Fan,

Shouldn't go where you're not comfortable. You're smart for not going to BYU.

Myself, wife, and children all graduated from BYU, and were happy for it, but it's not for everyone.

I'm hoping the ute-cougar games come to an end, and maybe the hatred will evaporate.

It seems to me, that when Y fans have as many Final Four appearances, Elite Eight appearances, Sweet Sixteen appearances and Big Dance appearances as the U, they may finally be in a position to same something. Until then, any comments about Y basketball superiority ring hollow.

Be careful, even scheduling nobodies he won't be ther in two years and neither will you! Utah state and weber state ate far better programs to consider. Even Westminister or Utah valley state would beat Utah like a drum
