I have seen the PBS new Sherlock series and agree, it's the best.
It's good, but it's only three episodes a season... which is worse than Downton Abbey's 6 episodes a season... The BBC is so weird.
I was hooked on Sherlock after watching the first episode. Both Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are outstanding.
