This is a mistake of monumentous of all bad judgements made by this fool in the White House. You might as well open up all borders and watch the U.S. fall from grace.Crimes rates will go out of sight while law enforcement agencys are reducing in size due to the bad economy. This is incompetence at its best being displayed by the bone headed leadership of our country.

One of my sons friends is one of these children. I was really surprised to learn he isn't a citizen and can't even leagally get a job now that he has graduated high school. In no way is he responsible for his circumstance, so I am happy that something is being done to help him. He is not a foreigner, he is as American as they come. Unfortunately so many Americans are very mean spirited, but fortunately there are many who aren't.

Were iit up to me those allowed to live iwould be people who are kind hearted. Those who aren't are the real foreigners.

I say it's time to show the president we are through with his way of doing this country wrong. Their of thousand of people waiting to enter this country legally and all he can show is favor towards the illegals and it's time for Obama to do what is best for this country, but no play fovorite to the illegals, if he loves them so much why doesn't he put his money into taking care of them.

Sorry to say, Trooper55, OUR money must now take care of them.

Obama can buy friends with our money and he is on a spending rampage.

How unfortunate for America that so many things have come down to executive decree. Why have a congress or a judicial system when all we need is a president?

Unfortunately, I think today's decree bought Obama a second term.

Dictator Obama doesn't have the power to bypass Congress on an issue such as this. I am a Democrat and this isn't what I bargained for. Bush fatigue has been replaced by the realization that we now have a leader who is mindlessly flailing around even worse than Jimmy Carter did.

There IS an immigration policy in place. The problem is NO ONE will enforce it. Nobody wants offend anybody so nobody does anything except to try to find ways to circumvent the laws that are in place, such as this mumbo-jumbo muddle that is being pressed upon the citizens. Our borders should have BIG signs that say, "Welcome everyone! Come right on in. Stop at the nearest State Welfare Office to sign up for all the things this country offers--FREE of charge, just for you." This latest wacky idea is par for the people in Washington. I don't care what the media says, if you read the newpapers and watch the news on TV, it does not take long to figure out which citizens of which countries are causing the problems

This is really common sense (unfortunate that so many in our community don't see it that way). Hopefully, this is a first step in logical immigration reform, recognizing that just being born to US citizen parents should not entitle us (Americans) to hoard our quality of life and turn a cold shoulder to our neighbors in a worldwide community of humankind.

Senator Hatch must be so happy.

So, if you and I and all our friends stop paying income taxes because "we want a better life for our families" all will be forgiven? And if we die in the meantime, our estates will not be confiscated from our kids who have done no wrong themselves?

Cool! Sign me up!

Oh, wait, you don't think that will happen?

Even if the "innocent children" are allowed to stay, that should NOT prevent or delay the immediate deportation of the illgal parents and siblings! But, mark my words, every family member will be allowed to stay, and their new "legal status" will be in time for them all to vote Democrat in November 2012!

Obama is destroying our country, systematically, for his own political benefit.

Our country is lost for sure if Obama is reelected, and probably even if he is not, thanks to the damage he has inflicted.

To: The Sensible Middle, Bountiful, UT: Your comments do touch the heart as each of these people are individuals who were brought here and have grown up here. However, what Pres. Obama has done here is delay needed legistaltion by basically making a last minute grand-stand play that is all politics and nothing more. All of the respect and benefit of the doubt that I have given to the President is fading fast when I see a late-in-game political play like this and not involving our Congress in meaningful policy decisions. These type of things impact all of us on a long-term basis. This is not the way to address this issue and will further divide the country. For me, this was the last straw for Pres. Obama. He has neither the understanding nor capability to lead this country forward. His direction is not forward. He has not brought anyone in Congress together to pass meaningful laws and policy. It is time to go and this type of play is telling of what he thinks of this country.

The people who put in corrupt leaders in Mexico, are doing the same thing here.

In a few years we'll be illegals in Canada, and voting in corrupt leaders there.

Actually, this is nothing but spin. BIA judges have always had discretion regarding children brought here against their will. The issue of care/custody has always been a consideration. So this big announcement is nothing of substance.
But it is a political olive branch to latino voters disappointed in Obama's broken promises.
Note that Romney waited a whole hour before caving to the crowd. Gone is his tough stance at the GOP debates. Expect more of the same as we approach the general election.

Article 2 Section 2 says the President can pardon or commute sentences as he sees fit. Granting immunity to children under these qualifications IS legal and is NOT an abuse of power as has been suggested.

DN Subscriber and Worf,

No one is making you stay here to bemoan what you view as a destruction of the country. Feel free to leave anytime you want.

This is only a "Political Ploy" and nothing else.Just like the " Gay " issue is the same thing. This so called "President " is taking this country down a path of Destruction and he cares not. Votes are more important than is the counrty. When will people wake up and see this "Wolf " in sheeps clothing. If what he is doing is in their best interest then they will support hime. If OBAMA is re-elected there might just be a wave of people leaving this country, but that is what the liberals want. They would be able to institute all of the "Great Social Programs" that they want. Then when we are out of money worse than we are today, Who or Whom will be complaining the most? This president is nothing but a " Socialist".

Claudio, I do not want to leave this country. What I do want is for those persons who are here illegally (note, ILLEGALLY) to go back from whence they came and enter this country in the manner prescribed by law, rather than running thru the desert on a dark night.

As Rush said today Obamas immigration policy is Catch, Release, Vote. Oh and thank you Orrin this Dream thing is your braintrust. You will not get my vote. The woman in this story has been mooching off of the taxpayers/citizens of this country all her life. Now we have to pay for this lame con game to be implemented. These illegal products will be on a level playing field with real citizens in job competition. I know they will never be employed in my business.Oh and you hispanic folks you have just been conned. Obama has had three years to do this and waits till now to buy your vote. Is it for Sale? The words President of the United States make me puke after this clown. This guy is a marxist pure and simple.

The adults have a law already that helps them get right with the law. Return home and come back with a student visa or residency card before their 18.5 birthday. They don't need the dream act. They are moved to the front of the line. I've had friends do it and it upsets me greatly that the media ignores this fact.

Executive Power does not give a President the right to pardon or commute immigration violations. This is not an executive order, but a "rule change" according to Bush, er Obama.

Claudio, this land belongs to Americans, like it or not.

Salt Lake City, Utah

How about we quit hiring illegals for a dime on the dollar and they will quit coming here and we won't have an illegal problem.

Only one problem with that type of immigration policy, lots of Americans who are making lots of money taking advantage of illegal immigrants will have to pay American citizens at least minimum wage.
