Considering the "achievements" of Obama, that's not saying much.

The headline doesn't reflect what the author wrote at all. I sometimes wonder if the headline writers ever read the articles.

The "competence" of Mitt Romney?

Competent to do what, tank the economy of Massachusetts and flip-flop on every issue imaginable? Yeah, OK.

It is going to get worse, much worse, for liberals as we get closer to the elections in November. No wonder Obama is wishing for the good old days when he campaigned against John McCain.

It was Democratic strategist James Carville who advised Obama to panic.

Let's see this is a conservative newspaper in the most republican leaning state in the union and there's surprise that the headlines lean toward Mitt. Not going to sell too many papers praising Obama in the state where Clinton took 3rd!

There is a big difference between "telling the truth" and simply "telling your audience what they want to hear."

One qualifies as news and the other does not.

To: Inis Magrath: "tanked the economy of Massachusetts".

Left office with 4.7% unemployment rate! What will Obama leave with 8% plus?

Left office with a Surplus and a funded rainy day fund after starting with a 2 billion dollar deficit and a legislature 85 percent Democrat! Sure sounds like he worked with the opposition to solve problems!

Obama and his team:Experts on FLIP FLOPPING!

1. The Economy is Fine: Oh it isn't Fine.
2. Close Gitmo: Oh Leave it Open.
3. Bain is Bad. Oh Bain is Good!
4. Romney is bad: Romney is Sterling!
5. I will Support the Unions: No Support for Unions in Wisconsin.
6. Didn't know about the Guns in Fast in Furious Scandal: Did know about it.
7. Released Top Secret Documents: Didn't release Top secret Documents.
8. We need the Bush Tax Cuts: We don't need the Bush Tax Cuts.
9. 57 States or not?

It just goes on and on!

To: Hutterite: Might I suggest if you dislike the Mitt coverage here you go to CNN,MSNBC,ABC,CBS,NBC,Huffington Post,A.P.,Reuters, ect... to get your fill of distortions favoring Obama!

Obama Failed!

Democrats are beyond reality. The problem is not "we're getting the message out," nor is it "missteps" by the campaign, nor is it "George Bush." The problem for Obama is he a complete and utter failure. Aside from some gay prancing, and some pandering to certain elements in the healthcare industry; name one positive thing the guy has done? A blind, deaf, and handicapped Romney would be head and shoulders better than Obama. Even a president who would do nothing, would be far better than all the bad stuff Obama decided to champion.

UtahCentrist -- regarding your final point, please quote any portion of the article that is not a telling of the truth.

Good luck.

Hopefully, even the average U.S. voter, even though not qualified to vote, can see the disaster that is Obama's "let's spend our way to prosperity" economic policies.

Obama: "The rich need to pay their fair share." In a system where the top 10% of wage earners already pay 70.5% of the taxes, and 46% of all tax filers pay $0 in federal income tax, Obama is delusional. What does he want...the top 10% of wage earners to pay 80% of the taxes, instead of 70%? Even if he accomplishes that, it is a red herring because it will make only a small dent on the gross out-of-control "spend more than you receive" approach to the economy that is the Obama policies. Bush expanded government too. I didn't like it when Bush did it, I don't like it when Obama does it.

Which of today's candidates will make things better?

If Romney loses, it will prove that voter intelligence is at an all time low.

OK, now that you've highlighted Romney's negatives, let's see you list his positives, experience and accomplishments. Can you, and will you? And stack them against Obama's.

I can't believe the typical Obama follower like you are still blind to the two different resumes of Obama and Romney. Again, and again: Obama never ran an office that qualified, him for president, at least gave him some executive experience. And his ineptness and incompetence have clearly been demonstrated. Compare that with Romney's experience! Miles apart! The logic is if Obama was elected with hardly any experience in matters of governing and the economy, imagine what a person like Romney would do?

GuitarBoy, The top 10% are not wage earners. They Have gobs of money which invested make them lots more money. Because their tax contribution accounts for roughly 70% of tax money collected is not evidence of paying a fair share. Taxes are based on a percentage of money earned, not a set amount owed per person. investor earnings are taxed at about 15%, A single wage earner taxpayer could be in as high as a 35% tax bracket. So of the two who pays the most taxes? That so many in the country do not pay any taxes is a problem that needs to be corrected, every citizen should contribute something, even if it is a "widows mite".

Even with the amount of money that the top 10% pay, the US Govt. still spends an additional $700 billion dollars or so per year of borrowed money which future generations are expected to repay. Spending is out of control under Obama. Romney says he is going to cut taxes. I'd like to hear how he plans to do that. My vote is going to a 3rd party candidate.

Glad to hear Romney is getting better press. It is so hard to hear the lies from the Obama camp, and the fear that there are still blind voters, planning on voting for him. We need to get America out of dept. That should be one of the greatest tasks that needs addressing with a new President. Of course the need for Jobs for our American citizens is very very important. YOU NOTICDE I SAID AMERICAN CITIZENS.

But, will a confidence meme in Mormonism arise if a Prez Romney brings the country back to fiscal health?

My crystal ball sees a You Betcha meme on the horizon. Mammon is prime for so many.

If someone likes Romney, they are obviously racist of biased. If they like Obama, they are deluded. One article will favor Romney the other Obama - it does no good to call names. The Deseret News will probably favor Romney, CNN will probably praise Obama. Again, the back and forth name calling does little good.

Before us will be an election; some say one of the most critical to date. Everyone will be asked to approach the polls and vote according to their own conscience and opinion and we will hope that no one - either Republican, Democrat, Independent or whatever is coerced or intimidated into voting in any way contrary to what they feel to be right and for what ever reason they feel that way. Let's be grateful that we can still vote and let's make sure we never lose that right --- or any of the others we have come to rely on for our freedom.

You'd think voters would get a clue and look for a better chauffeur if they paid good money and he drove them deeper in the ditch.

But if your chauffeur is a chauffer, then you're better off placing your confidence in a small portable stove. Cause we didn't need a constitutional lawyer to take us where European epicureanism took them. We could've just partied in Greece. It's alot prettier in Santorini and their museums and gelato are fab.

"The private sector is doing fine."

Any questions on why confidence is shifting to Romney? A few more 'gaffes' like that and this election is going to be a landslide victory for Romney. Let's hope. We can't afford 4 more years of Obama's economic plan.

Some posters are still having a problem with stating correct facts. Forty some percent pay no Income Tax. That is not the same as the erroneous statement that forty some percent pay no taxes.
