"...White Paper...".
34 pages of what Mitt Romney will do to "ensure" everything is fixed.
Move everything from the Fed's to the State's, using block grants to encourage the State's compliance with the new and improved Federal Mandate, while the Fed's "ensure" the State's are doing what the Fed's are not doing or would not do (i.e. unfunded mandates).
Marvelous.
So is Romney going to actually provide the federal finances that were intended to be given to the districts but never have been? I don't see it happening. More empty rhetoric from the clueless.
I do not just like this idea.....
I LOVE it! I think it is an idea that should have been passed a long time ago. Give us back the power to choose. The parents know what is best for their children, and we know how our kids learn best. ESPECIALLY kids with special needs.
The IEP plans are not individualized any longer. They are forms with check boxes on them. That is not how it was intended to work, but it is what happens when you put too much bureaucracy in between the needs of the student and the education system available to meet those needs.
When parents can shop around for the best program tailored to meet each child's learning needs, whether it is public, private or homeschool the outcomes will improve.
Mitt Romney has my firm support on this one, and alot of parents with kids who have special needs are going to be with me.
