So did Emma Smith do the right thing in the non-LDS choices in the second half of her life? Her convictions led to the RLDS church and its support. It probably depends in which pew you sit before this becomes an axiom...

I should be clear here and not sound so snarky. I appreciate Susan's article and her thesis is well presented. I also love and admire my righteous pioneer heritage, I was raised by this axiom.

I rather meant to point out that people of differing religious convictions can accomplish amazing things when they follow ethical energies. We will ultimately have to leave the sifting of the wheat versus the tares to our Lord. My warning is from the Lord's admonition to follow His voice, not your own ideas and desires. Else you come to Judgment Day with your "good works" and He says, "Depart. I never knew you."

Don't confuse all good deeds as a measure of His fruit, but do love and help others in need always.

Unlike Mother Smith I struggle to find words but I have, on occasion, been recognized as Christian apparently by my acts. I hope my Father helps me to speak when necessary. Whi was it whi said, "Preach the Gospel always and, when necessary, use words"?
